If you don't want air bags you can check into SuperSprings, I have used them for 9 yrs on my Tacoma and they work well towing my TT.

I have a 2008 Base Crewmax with 1320lbs of payload. Also, your payload includes a full tank of gas.
I tow a 7,000 camper & have added Blsteins, rear sway bar & “E” rated tires & a Reese straight line hitch. I have over 25K towing this rig. My rig is stable with no sway. Stay away from long grades over 9%(think Teton pass, 10% 6 miles, 10K’...not good) and you’ll be fine. Also, learn how to manually downshift for downhills also.
I have been to the CAT scales many times & suggest you do the same. You will learn a lot. Stay under your axle ratings and you will be fine. Also make sure your rig is level or a hair nose down after applying weight distribution. Also, your GCVWR(combo weight, tk & Tlr) should be around 16K, so you are fine as far as that goes.
Here is a pic of my set up.

My 2018 CM Limited is only rated at 1185 lbs payload. I would not be towing your TH with my Tundra.

I'm also looking to get a TH but my payload is also at its max with smaller TH. This is the one I'm looking at and it's pushing my payload. https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/travel-trailers/grey-wolf/18RR/5759
Do you travel with a full tank of water?
I love my Tundra but if we ever want to travel with full water, add 2 passengers or take a heavier toy, I will be out of my payload capacity. I'm looking at 3/4 ton trucks now in gas. Right now GM is having their "employee pricing" and I may able to find a good deal on a gas burner. I went to look at one yesterday and the payload is 3445 lbs. This is a Chevy "Custom" crewcab. That's triple the amount of my Tundra. It has an MSRP of $49,200. If it had leather seats, I would be getting it.

If you are looking at a Chevy/GM, look at an LT trim. Add the All Star package and Convenience II package. You will pick up leather and many other things. Trucks with these 2 packages will have MSRP of $53 to $56k. With employee pricing and dealer coming down some you should be in the $40's.

That TT TH you want looks like it’s within your tundra limits. It is 7550 Gross, assuming you get a tongue of 10%/750lbs that will still leave you with 435lbs payload. Personally I’d only get a diesel if I buy one of the big 3s 3/4 tons.
I hope you get a good deal.

435 lbs is only 2 Americans. Might work if you stuff the kids and all your gear in the trailer, but then your tongue weight would probably be more than 750 lbs.

Thanks for the advice, I looked into those and it's definitely better than what I was doing before. I had to add the "leather package" separate, it was not in the above 2 packages.

Exactly, my wife and I are 325lbs, about 150lbs of gear. This not taking into account the propane and battery or any water in the tank. It's really pushing it.

My max towing is 9800. I load everything on the TH. My teryx is also about 1200lbs , gear, and food is extra. With everything loaded, my TH topped around 9000. I made sure I loaded correctly to get a tongue of 900. Not hard with being able to move the 4 wheeler in front or rear of TH axle.

Not meaning to start an argument here, but if the metals are so superior then why do many guys in the 4Runner forum carry spare front axles with them on the trail because they break so often? They actually replace them on the trail.

You are right on that. I thought leather was in the all star package. I looked at my sticker and it is a separate line item for "Leather Package"

I’ve the inside on some CM 5-seater. That middle console looks nice but it looks like added weight. Mine is just a simple manual-fold up seat that weighs a merely 15 pound..... I like the 6 seater, my kid can sit up with me if he wants

I will go to the scales tonight with a full tank of fuel and see the actual weight. I want to see my unloaded front/rear axles are anyway so When I load the TT TH and the wife and kid I don’t go over.

I think fronts are capped at 4000 and rears are 4150. TW scale, best $300 ever spent. Makes it safer and you’ll feel comfortable that your within limits.

I advise anyone towing, even if you have a 3/4+ ton trucks, get a tongue scale.

    Your try
Your tundra is heavy. Was that with full tank? And with you inside the vehicle?
If I can remember correctly mine was well under 6000 with full tank
Can’t remember that’s why I will go tonight

Can always take the spare out to give you an extra 40-50 pounds

So your truck weighs 6,036 pounds with you in it so you have 1,164 of payload available to get to the 7,200 rating.

My Platinum weighed 6,440 pounds on the scales with only me in it. I had a Line-X bedliner and running boards. I only had 760 pounds of payload left. By the time I threw in my wife and kids 250 pounds combined, plus say 100 pounds of luggage on a camping trip. That put me at 6,800 pounds with the family. I only had 400 pounds left for tongue weight........

2 things I learned theough experiences.....

    1. Trucks always weigh more than advertised weight. Not sure why, but they do.

    2. Always factor in 15% of tongue weight with a travel trailer. If it is 6,000 pounds, by the time you add a proper WDH, battery setup and propane up front on the trailer, you will be pushing 850-900 pounds if trailer is loaded correctly.

I weighed 4 different campers with my Tundra as we have scales at work. Fresh water tanks and waste were empty and they were all about 15% tongue weight......

Leather seats are a simple add. The Katzkins in my Taco were as nice as my Platinum leather.

Do you have a 38 gal tank? That reduces PL a lot. Sunroof also.

Those two items are probably 200+ of the mystery. I'll bet your tank is 26 though.

Weighed my 2021 Fuel 250, Teryx inside, full tank of water, weeks worth of food, and other misc. I was at 9000lbs. Max TW I can get is 900lbs + 80lbs for my WDH. That puts me at 980 TW out of 9800 GTW. (safe margin)
Depends on how far in I load the ATV, I can get a TW of 900 or even as high as 1600. I imagine 15% TW would be better. But all I can do is imagine with the payload of the tundra

Towed very nicely for 3500 miles from
    CA to UT.
