How is everyone’s range with their key fob on 20-21 Tundra’s with push button start. My range is terrible. I did add LED cargo lights and heard that could be a culprit. I have to be pretty close to vehicle for it to work. Battery is fine in my Fob

If you turn your cargo light switch to OFF the range will restore. The LED bulbs disrupt the key fob receiver, which is located exactly where those new bulbs are.

I added vleds to cargo lamp and think I’m having a similar problem. First click is fine for unlocking driver door but second click seems to miss signal at a distance.
I called them a while back with questions about their puddle lights and the tech talked about this issue.
If I remember correctly they have an led that will work. I plan on calling them and seeing if that’s the case.

Hey I have been having a very similar problem with my truck where it never locks when exiting. I can be right next to it and it won't lock. I did change to led bulbs as well. I also have been having trouble with the door touch lock. Unlock works fine but never locks. I also changed my fob to an ajt design thought that might have been the culprit but I might try the bulbs first. Worked fine when I first got the truck but now can't seem to ever get it to lock.

99 percent of the time this problem comes up, it's because an LED cargo light was installed. Turn the cargo light off and try again, as stated above. The antenna for the fob is in there, and most LED lights available for it emit an EMF that interferes with it.

Ok so I put the stock bulbs back in and I guess it’s a little better but it’s not great. It’s definitely not as good as my 18 was. I could be almost anywhere in my house and hear the beep. Now if I’m in a parking lot it seems that I have to be somewhat close. It’s only an issue I guess if I want to use remote start. Anyone know what the approximate range (feet) that it should be working

I think I’m getting about 100 feet in an empty parking lot

I didn't realize the LED bulbs interfered with the FOB not working. I thought it was the battery too. But the company finally told me that it's a known issue with their bulbs. (would have been nice for them to put it on their ad). I just turned off my cargo lights and it's working now. I'm currently looking for LEDs that do not cause this issue.

VLEDS make specific ones that do not interfere but they aren’t cheap.

This is the correct bulb. It will not interfere with the key fob. $25 each

Wow, I'm so glad I found this thread...I wouldn't have ever connected new LED lights with the degraded key fob; especially since I didn't notice it right away. I thought for sure it was the battery.

Only took a minute to prove it though; will be ordering a set of the VLED's.

I have those Vleds bulbs, but I can tell you that they are not that bright. I am going to take them back out and put my high output Vleds back in and just leave the switch off.

Got the vled bulbs fast and got full range with my fob again. They're about as bright as the ones I originally purchased from Headlight Revolution (GTR T10 - 10 LED); HR was great on the return since they caused problems.

I have those Vleds currently, the switch is off, and my range sucks.

That's weird, with the cargo switch off I didn't have any interference with HR bulbs; or at least any noticeable issues...only when the cargo lights were actually illuminated. When I switched to the RF Free bulbs from VLED for Tundra I can leave them on or in door setting and don't notice anything different than the OE bulbs.

Sorry yours aren't working as expected...I'd ping VLED as they should work.

Since it is weak with the switch off, it's just the nature of them switching to the shark fin for the 2020's.

Hold the fob against your head while pushing the button. It'll triple your range. :D Seriously.
