So my 2013 is finally getting picked up by Carvana tomm. I have an Interstate battery in it that is about 9 months old and has a 5 yr warranty. Thinking about swapping it with the battery in my 2020. Good idea?...aren't the OEM batteries crap still?

Your new ride should have a warranty on the battery for X period of time ?
I like to think the Interstate battery is a good one as that's what I have in my vehicle.

My original battery in my 2018 died at 18 months. Dealer put in a new one with an 84 month warranty, but that one is already showing signs of leaking around the caps. So yeah, the OE batteries are still shit.

the factory batteries are made by interstate.. i wouldnt swap it just because, now if you do have an issue the battery is warrantied.

Interstate doesn't make batteries. Interstate is a distributor of contract manufactured batteries made for Interstate. There are only three major battery manufacturers in the US. Exide, Penn, Johnson Controls. Obviously not all batteries are the same. Same with contract manufactured batteries which are made to contract specifications.

Not trying to be negative but my 50 dollar Walmart battery is going on 3 years. So no I wouldn't switch it, It's just not worth worrying about.

That Walmart battery is better than the OEM battery put in at San Antonio.

I swapped it out. The OEM battery had absolutely no labels at all. Not even a manufacture date. The only difference is the Interstate is a 24F and the OEM is a 27F. 27F was the only sticker on it.

Your not worried about your transmission with the smaller 24f battery? What if you go into the dealer and they void your warranty?

You won't have to worry now with that Interstate. Too many folks here are having the new OEM batteries failing prematurely and that's only what's being reported here on this forum.
