Hey, first post here and proud owner of a 2004 Tundra Double Cab 2wd

I have a couple questions. First, I’ve thought about deleting the muffler and just replacing it with a piece of pipe. Will this screw up anything? Like will I lose fuel economy or low end torque or pulling power? I love the way the 4.7L V8 sounds, but I’d like it more if the muffler wasn’t dampening the sound.
My second question...I’m fairly sure that Sequoia running boards would fit the Tundra 4-door without a problem. Will newer Tundra running boards fit? Would Newer Tacoma 4-door running birds fit?

Just trying to do a couple little things to make it even more fun.

    Thanks

20200928_190300.jpg Welcome from Vegas. I also have an 04 Dc 2wd. What color? Please post some pics!

Please dont delete anything. If you want some guts & growl, consider upgrading your exhaust to flow master or something better if you can afford it.
Other than wheels, not much is compatable with our truck with anything newer than 2006. We are 1ST GEN.

Lots of cool aftermarket running boards are out there and Sequoia stuff works most of the time if the years are close. good luck and show us ur truck.

First of all welcome. To answer your questions, please do not delete anything. Please keep your muffler quiet as possible as nobody cares about how loud your muffler is except you. Your neighbors will greatly appreciate it. Running boards are specific to Tundras. The crossover to/from Sequoia isn’t possible.

If you straight pipe it, you'll regret it. Have you ever heard an unmuffled v8? Its obnoxiously loud. Go to your local dragstrip and hang around for a few races.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will most likely leave it alone. Truck is Blue Marlin...
I currently have the matching camper and carpet out of the bed, but I can post a couple pictures now and some when I put it back in/on.

only issue I have right now is that I have to slam the driver door to close it. I need to figure out how to level it up.

Yep...just gonna leave it alone. Better to fix other things like my driver door.
