How is the brightness on the backup camera? I'm worried about it blinding the camera and making the backups less effective. Even the LP upgrade I put in had an effect of darkening the rest of the backup camera picture...

the mod journey begins...so far, really like everything.
    • TRD front & rear sway bars - dealer installed
    • AJT Designs interior chrome delete - work in progress
    • Color matched mirror caps - see below
    • BedRug
    • Lomax Tri-fold Tonneau - see below
    • Driver side grab handle - used M6-1 sized bolt, washer and u-nut
    • Interior VLEDs - white
THANK YOU to everyone here for the wealth of info, recommendations, etc. I've learned a ton, spent (and saved) a ton of $!

I won't add all pics of my mods since most have already been shared by others, but I will share where my experiences have differed.

AJT Designs shifter trim - drilling out the plastic melds and using a screwdriver to separate worked well. the one "fake" bolt had a noticeable gap so was able to close it doing this:

Mirror Caps - these were PITA at first! I had no gap to get my fingers or thicker trim tools in to pry off. Finally found one that was thin enough and had to start on the lower edge but once I was in, took no time to pop off the old and pop on the new caps
    [IMG]

Lomax Tri-fold Tonneau - easy enough to install and after a little experimenting, found that having the teeth of the clamp in the third from the bottom groove of the rail made everything fit very well top to bottom and front to back. the issue is left to right, as you'll see there is quite a gap where the locking mechanism is on the left and very snug on the right.

Interestingly enough, the cover itself is pretty significantly shifted to the left! I'll have to keep experimenting to get the alignment right but the way the cover is built and secured to the bed, there aren't very many areas to shim or adjust (or at least that I can tell). Any suggestions?

When I saw this, I cant lie, I fell in love. What a cool idea. I don't know enough about electricity to know if it's just gimmicky or this thing will perform what I need to when I'm camping. Your mod reminded me of it. A good start, if you will.

Should have picked this up during their last sale.

Install looks a lot easier than the footwell lights.

I was thinking the same thing. Those tires look wicked. They don't rub? I'd love to put that size on.
