2020 Factory Build

Was wondering guys,

My dealer ordered me a 2020 Tundra Trd Double Cab about 6 weeks ago from the factory. I cant get any answers from the dealer as of when they may expect it or if they could track the build. Had to give them a $1000 down and cant provide me with any info. Just wondering what your thoughts on the whole thing are?

 

You mean 2021 Tundra, right?
If you haven’t done so, reach out to the customer relationship manager at the dealership and complain about the situation. Usually they are more “willing” and “able” to fix the issues in sales/service.

The inventory manager is who you need to talk to. They are the ones who can see things that the salesman and managers can't see in the system. The IM also is the one that gets the shipping notifications.

 

There trying to tell me it is going to be a 20, they are not even producing 20s anymore.

There are still 20's in production. The previous orders have to be fulfilled.

 

They haven't been to responsive to my emails or calls. Ready to get a hold of the dealer Owner.

I just got a 2020 myself and the build date was 8/20. Look on Toyota.com and see if they have some phone numbers.

Yes. My situation was a little different. I found mine on Toyota.com by color, model, etc. It showed an availability date to my zip code. I had to talk a dealership into telling me what dealer it was going to. I called that dealer to confirm that it was inbound and not sold yet. I went up right then and purchased it. It got stuck in port for 2 weeks but I have it now.

I had the same thing happen with my 2020 about 10 months ago but I think there were rail strikes or something like that affecting deliveries at the time. I can't see delivery scheduling getting any easier with covid.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay going this route? I'm currently looking for a limited and thinking this may be the route I have to take as I'm looking for a specific color... or I'll just have to wait, but that's no fun

Edit: It also really doesn't help that trucks shown on the local specials on Toyota's site include preorders that will never even be available...
