We call this... ‘Mangling’ around here. Family friendly.

 

Cut the line at the fitting (clamp the rubber like to prevent leakage) and they come right out with an impact 90% of the time. The one on the flexible line you need to be a bit more careful but also usually comes off easily with an impact if you grab hold of the metal to keep it from spinning

 

I was tempted to cut it off multiple times

Eventually got it out with liquid wrench and a good grip with my vice grips

Oh... well if their stainless no. Rubber yes. Stainless the best bet is having the brake pedal pinned to the floor and nothing will dribble out

 

Hmm, I would think the fluid would come blasting out if you push the pedal all the way down. How does that work?

 

You pop the bleeder. Get a stick or something and hold the pedal to the floor. Fluid will come out when you hit it so use a hose to direct it. Then just leave the pedal to the floor. It will not allow more fluid to dribble out of the lines. This is actually how Toyota tells us to do it.

I was always careful not to put the pedal all the way to the floor with a helper pumping the brakes for bleeding, to avoid breaking the master cylinder.

 

That is one issue that can arise. But it’s also pretty rare to actually happen.

 

Seal Packing arrived. Looks to be supplied by ThreeBond whom I called last week and they never returned my call inquiring about their products. Glad I didn’t hold my breath.

 

Pre-game on tomorrows next moves. 2nd Flush from yesterday and 3rd Distilled Water Only Fill look good today. This pour is from the overflow as a sample. I’ll drain it one more time and fill with distilled tomorrow. Put a sample dab of the Seal Packing on the old thermostat for grins and threw it in the water. Half in and half air exposed.

@empty_lord how long before you can drive after using the 1282B on the water pump flange?

 

Why do I feel like I'm waiting on a major sporting event or something with this upcoming TB change out? Anyone else?

 

What's the ETA on completion? Looks like you're about to the point of reassembly?
