2020 Only keyless ignition chime

Since I don't have a white wire in my column (no key and I did check just in case), I need to find another fix for the horrible door chime feature. On a 20 if you open the drivers door before complete shutdown, the door chime goes off. If you open and close the door (or just push the plunger button in the jam and release) the chime stops. This seems to happen more times than not and is driving me crazy. It also beeps multiple times if the key is in your pocket and you step out of the truck with it, which is every day with 3 kids getting their crap together. Carista worked for the other features I wanted to change, but I want to do this WITHOUT disabling the dome light. Anyone out there dealt with the keyless ignition wiring yet?

 

I was going to suggest Carista but see you already have it. Maybe see if the option is in techstream and find someone with it or buy it and the cable.

Unless I find a fix, I think I'm just going to disable the door plunger and install my own courteously light magnetic switch in the jam.

 

I've just made lemonade with the situation by pretending I'm on some showcase showdown gameshow when I'm putting the kids in the seats and running around the truck. Can I make it to the other side before the chimes stop?

It adds the extra razzle dazzle to the situation when you have a toddler mid-meltdown.

 

Get a wireless OBD scanner like a Veepeek and download the Carista app. There is a way to disable the chime using that app.

The app is expensive, but if you sign up for a year using iOS, there is a 1 week free trial. That means you can buy it, cancel the subscription and still use it for the 7 days.

I believe he said in the original post that the option was not in the Carista app. The chime is wildly annoying.

 

I have Carista. If someone with TS can tell me if there's an option and have used it for a 2020, I'd be willing to buy it.

 

I have found this sequence works: stop, parking brake on, put in park, shut off truck.

 

Did you ever find a fix on your 2020. It’s very annoying. Wish I could just locate the chime box.

 

It’s not an option... which is why Techstream and Carista can’t disable it. Only possibility might be physically disconnecting the buzzer if it’s not integrated into anything else.
