Hi, newbie Tundra owner here. I recently rescued a neglected 2000 SR5, and I'm looking forward to tinkering with it.

The truck shows a pretty big rake, but I know some angle is normal on the 4WD Tundras. Do you think that my rake indicates a front suspension issue, or does it look normal? I was hopeful that getting new shocks/coils might help bring up the front end just a bit (and improve the ride). I could try 5100's for some flexibility too, but that might be a bit beyond my repair skills.

FYI, the the tires are 16's.

    Thank you!

That’s definitely more than stock take with a properly functioning suspension. The front looks lower than normal and the rear looks higher than normal. Maybe wore out front end and blocks or AAL added in the rear.

The back definitely looks higher made blocks added. Any pictures from underneath and the side?

    Welcome from NY.

Thanks for the replies. I hadn’t thought of AAL, and I think that may be the case. Here’s a pic of rear right tire. I don’t see a block, but it looks like there is one more layer to the springs that what I see in repair manual pics. Maybe that was added?

(Update: based on shopping parts it looks like it may be “heavy duty” spring package, 5 total. Not sure if that would keep the truck’s ass up this much on its own. Maybe looks more severe because the front is so low. Can’t say I don’t mind the extra support there for loads).

As for the front, my hunch is it’s just worn and saggy like you say. I’m thinking I’ll put new coils and shocks up front and see what happens. Shocks in back need it too, eventually.
