I was told by my marine mechanic that the new Sta-bil 360 Marine has Startron in it. I have not verified that. I do use the Sta-bil 360 Marine in my boat, especially for winter storage. Outboards seem much more sensitive to fuel degradation than cars. As a rule I do not use additives. I may try BG 44K Platinum.

I use a fuel injector cleaner every 25,000 miles (diesel and gas engines) as there is some amount of buildup with the injectors and that makes for a less fine mist and poorer combustion. I don't worry about which brand as they use the same chemical mix. Even Chevron which has long promoted its Techron fuel as keeping your engine clean sells a fuel additive for the injectors. At less than $10 for a bottle of injector cleaner it is not something to spend a lot of time thinking about.
