Yeah it really sucks when you're riding with your wife and your girlfriend sends a text!

bottom line - sounds like Toyota has yet to surrender enough blood money to Apple to get full functionality. My 2014 Ford was the same way for a while until Ford sent out an update to their SYNC system - which is Microsoft btw - and then it would read incoming messages for you as well as store them. It wasn't perfect as you could not verbally create a message through SYNC but you could access siri through SYNC and create a text that way - pretty much like "siri eyes free" now, except your messages would be received consistently and read if you wanted.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm having issues with my entune.

When I set it up my messages will work and I can get them read to me.
However when I restart my car I get the notification of the text but the option to read it is grayed out.

I've already tried resetting the head unit and re-adding my phone. Any suggestions?

    None yet!
Had the same issue with mine until I turned on send notifications on the phone Bluetooth menu. Then worked like a charm.

Mine works only if I turn off Bluetooth on my iPhone after starting the truck, then turning Bluetooth back on.
