these transmissions are not nearly as adept as the DSG ones, so there will always be a bit of a delay in what you're after...but for what it is now, the GL and Direct Shift will be stellar to use...but yeah, back in the day, your max speed was FAR lower too on the highway systems as well as the power available in the tow vehicles...like you said, downshift and rev her up...boom...

Very true...hence the reason why I want a supercharger! The CJ runs premium due to the high compression ratio on the stroker, so might as well do it on the Tundra as well! lol

Like I've said before, I would NOT own a Tundra if I didn't have the SC'r...it's a game changer only for the better...tho, MPG suffers a bit more...other than that, I'd own a diesel like my previous LBZ if I needed more...the SC'r makes for everything being better if you discount efficiency :p

I don’t want to read 144 pages but I wanted to ask if it is possible for your program to remove or turn off the nannies? Thanks

My last truck before this was a diesel, and I'm a retired diesel mechanic so I know they are awesome. I jumped onto the hype of the Cummins V8 that came in the Nissan Titan XD. Honestly, it was a great truck, but problematic. When the turbo started going at 40K (and I was deleted, lifted, Titan 50 gallon fuel tank), I knew the warranty wouldn't cover it. Tried to order a new turbo myself (there were no big single replacements yet) and they were on NATIONAL BACKORDER!!! That's when I jumped into the Tundra. She's not as comfortable (seat wise), but she's reliable, and beautiful. Plus now with my wheels and tires (and the Kings) she's more than capable for what I need her for. If I want to go crazy offroad I have the CJ7 for that.

You can do it several ways...I'm not certain if the OVT tune will allow/enable the options...but for me, I used Car Scanner; they have a free version but you can only toggle some things on/off...I opted for the "buy" and it allowed me to toggle the seat-belt chimes off and change some HVAC parameters that I wanted to see...so for a whipping $3.99, I did what I wanted on some of the soft-parameters of the truck....

Venting is probably a fair description. I'm not terribly interested in continuing the mud slinging. Suffice to say i think people have legitimate concerns, and giving them a hard time is not really fair. But, when working with talented artists sometimes you have to be on their timetable. I've had enough bad experiences in the aftermarket automotive world to know that getting a good outcome is always worth the wait. Flushed too many 5 figure builds down the toilet because people overpromised and delivered a bad tune making the driving experience suck or outright wrecking an engine.

Thank you for your patience everyone.
We will begin releasing more ECUs this week, on a daily basis.

18 ECU (0CN21) we have released. Rocklobster I will check your ticket but also check your spam folder, a lot of our emails are going to folks spams.

19 ECUs is released in vF Tuner for tuning (if you wish to make your own tune)
19 ECUs "tune pack" (pre made from us with all the features) is coming.

Depending on what your ECU ID is will depend on what stage of release we are on. Everything (initially) was going great with release. We hit a speed bump due to one single ECU version, but we are back in action since last week.
I will be posting updates for which ECUs are supported (with all features) and being sent.

Nope. These are safety features and the liability would be far too great.

Are your custom features only in the "tune pack"?

No. they will be available with the standard software.

So you could use our software and make your own tune with the features if you wanted to.

That sounds good. With just the software, is the stock tune able to be retrieved or would we have to start from a blank slate? Also, I would still need to get my ECU updated 1st?

This wouldn't be so bad for people itching to get this and play around a little bit. And then get the tune pack when it's available. I'm really wanting to have the added features over much performance gain.

Hi guys, I might be getting a Tundra very soon and I am very familiar with OV for the Tacoma and just wondering if it's worth it for the Tundra as well..

How noticeable is the power gain and would it have to be through 93 octane or is there a difference in 87 octane? Also how much would it cost to reuse my flash kit on the Tundra?

    Thanks!

I actually think this is something that we should be given access to.

I do understand not wanting to write this into a tune and send it out... I get that. But to make and sell a software that includes this option is even further removed from liability. Now its on the USER who would be the one making this happen.

Its really no different than selling something with the speed limiter removed. A simple, "this is not intended to be used other than in off road use by a professional, and should NEVER be used for applications driven as a commuter/personal vehicle"... disclaimer, would be more than enough to remove any liability to him.

Just deactivate those safety features the factory way, it doesn't take but moments. It's just two button presses. As a firefighter, you should understand the prudence of having safety features functional by default.

As a FF I understand the importance of pushing the limits. :D

No one said anyone HAS to use it. It's simply a option that would be there for those who wish to... Same as speed limiter. I have ZERO desire to go over a hundred in this truck (and I think anyone who does is nuts), but I think since it's already developed, that option should be there for those who want it.

ABSOLUTELY the nannies should be on by default. I'm just saying the vftuner should have access to turning them off.

Ultimately, it's Mat's decision to offer it or not.

Yep. Agreed. Just giving my two cents.
It would be nice for those who want it...and It's another thing that he can market that HP doesn't offer and he can... But his choice.

It would at least be nice to adjust when the nannies kick in and make them less sensitive. The traction control kicks on so easy in these trucks, and it's annoying as hell.

There is a guy here that sells a kit where you just hit a button and it turns them all off.

I think that there is someone who's put something together where it does the same automatically upon startup.

I have one of these kits. Can't remember who I bought it from... but haven't installed it yet.
Still not sure if I want all those disabled nanny lights on all the time... so I'm just sitting on the kit for now.

Would definitely be interested in OV tune for my 2020 when it's available... and the ability to tamper with safety devices would be fantastic. wink-wink.
I never could appreciate being "protected from myself" and just wish I could drive something like a brand new 1969 Big Block Camaro... without traction control, stability control, top speed limiters, etc...

I'd think a simple liability waiver would suffice... and I'd be the first in line to sign it so I could turn off all the nanny bullshit.
