Has anyone hauled a shed on a trailer before?
Selling our house but planning to keep the sheds I have (Rubbermaid Big Max and another one from keter) both being 8x8. Any input from experienced people would be greatly appreciated.

I hauled one a while back when i had my ram. Rubbermaid platic shed about 8x8. We disassembled the top of the shed and hauled that in one piece. The sides came down and stacked together and hauled the base in one piece. Hope that makes sense. I don't have any pictures.

Thanks! Gave rubbermaid a call and they said their sheds are not meant to be disassembled.

    This changes things...

Short distance? Maybe put some 4x8’ sheets of plywood on a low railed trailer, tie it down on that? I wouldn’t want to move a shed very far.

I have moved stick built sheds/ out buildings. I use a tilting deck car trailer, winch and a mix of timbers, plywood and jacks. No experience with plastic sheds, but I am sure it can be done, brace the walls, lift it onto a couple skids and screw it down to the skids then winch it on.

Hey thanks guys for the responses. Trying to justify the purchase of a trailer to my wife. Planning on getting the heavy duty folding one from harbor freight and creating a raised platform to place on top then strapping it down with 20-30 straps.

I will try to tak it apart first per AZTundras advise.

If I were to tow it on a trailer it would be 8 miles inside roads 35mph tops.

Can you post a picture of the shed?

This is a newer model but looks the same. I can get an actual photo when I'm back home.

Pretty sure the one I have is larger.

That is somewhat similar to what mine looked like. As mentioned, we were able to disassemble the rood part from the walls and keep it together in one piece. From there the walls and doors came down in pieces. The floor was kept together in one piece as well.

We stacked the shed floor on bottom, side panels and doors on top, then placed the roof section on the top and strapped it down.

Rebuilding it was easy in the reverse order. Lay base, add walls and doors, lift roof back on.

Once reassembled was it as sturdy? I live in new england region and snow/wind can be a concern at times.

I'm in AZ, so don't really have the same weather out here. The shed is about 14 years old now and still doesn't have any leaks. It went back together pretty easily and we haven't had any issues with it since.

I moved a 10x12 shed on a roll deck truck with no issues, but it had a really well built frame for the floor. No disassembly. Winched it up on the truck, put the 3,333 lb straps on it, and moved it about a mile with no issues. Would have had no worries moving it further at low speeds like you are talking about. It yours is only 8 feet wide it's not even an oversize load, so it should be doable so long as it is empty and sturdy enough to drag on/off the trailer.
