    Fucking pendant lights
I did mine in 45 mins or less.

    My moms house?
    Pre wired (like mine was.)
First one- No prob. 1 white, 1 black, 1 ground.

2nd-3rd: 2 whites. 2 blacks. 2 grounds. Tried every combo no luck
    1st one no longer works
Pendant lights all have 2 black (one for hot) and a ground

    Check power. No voltage
Check power at switch: just a trickle like one of the hot wires in the pendant lighting

Like wtf? Breaker is fine as it’s on the same circuit as her recessed lighting- which works.

    house is 1 year old
    GFCI’s are good
    I can’t locate a second switch

Did you look for or try any other gfci's near by? Are you sure they are on the same breaker? Sometimes when one of my breakers trips it doesn't appear to be tripped visually, but after flipping it back and forth it will solve the problem. Just a gusses from me.

I tried all 5 of her GFCI’s I could locate

when I killed this particular breaker, it killed the power for the recessed lights and the one I had hung up. So it’s def in same breaker

Assuming this is in the kitchen area. Any gcfi outside on the patio area? I have one out there. Maybe a hidden gcfi under the sink by the garbage disposal or in the kitchen cabinets where a microwave is plugged in?

Each pendant light will need at connection to the black(hot wire) and white nuetral wires. Gnd goes to enclosure or sometimes a braided wire.

    Do you have a Meter?

It sounds like the light you are calling the 1st one is actually the last one in the line as it only has 1 set of wires to it.
So if you can find power in the actual first one in the line and mark that wire then connect that light in parallel to the second one, test for power and connect to the third, formerly known as the first of course.

If you can not check reliably for Voltage though it is a lot tougher to understand what is going on.

If there is no Voltage anywhere look inside the panel and there might be an Arc-Fault Breaker on that circuit that was tripped by your connecting the wires, the Arc Fault breakers are insanely sensitive compared to other breakers.

I am not so confident that ceiling fixtures will have a wall mounted GFI really.

Turn the circuit off and double check your wiring.

I checked under the sink, but not outside. Good suggestion. Microwave one is a good suggestion too.

Ya it has me taking the braided black from fixture to black from conjunction.
Smooth black from fixture to white in junction

but the other 2 junction boxes have 2 whites, 2 blacks, and 2 grounds

Turn circuit off first and double check wiring...it sounds to me like it is not wired correctly. There is only one way to wire.

    The first light....
2 blacks get connected to black on pendant light
2 whites get connected to other wire of pendant light
2 gnd to enclosure or box or braided wire

    2nd light....
2 blacks get connected to black on pendant light
2 whites get connected to other wire of pendant light
2 gnd to enclosure or box or braided wire

3rd light last (the one with 1 set of wires)
1 black get connected to black on pendant light
1 whites get connected to other wire of pendant light
1gnd to enclosure or box or braided wire

So the power comes from the switch and to the first light, there is also a second identical wire there which goes to the second light.

Those each need to be connected together by color to feed the circuit from the switch to the first light and then onto the second light.
At the second light the same wires will be there and connect just like the first as one of them feeds the third light.

At the third and last light there will be just one wire as that one is the end of the line of three lights.

So if you find the wire from the switch it will be the hot one at the first light with 2 incoming wires.

    Does that make more sense?

It should be wired similar to the diagram below, with another light wired the same as the first before the string is terminated at the third light.

So, I got it all hooked up with both lights tied together- but should be separate and I won’t do it, unless it’s right

The contractor who did this tied the canned lights together with the pendant lights. It was a PITA, but it’s done

I then hooked up 4 replacement bathroom light fixtures which took me maybe 30-45 mins. That’s how these pendant lights should have been done, but noooooooooo:mad:

When I did my house, it was 30’ish mins and done.
