I've been reading a lot about our v8 engines (5.7) when supercharged and I'm curious if one could effectively remove the cats on both ends of sensors and not need to tune out the error codes? Or, if you must remove the codes, what's the best way? I'd like to remove the cats and unlock more sound and power without completely modifying the entire exhaust...Any suggestions...?

Could do resister mods to send the ECU that the 02 sensors are ‘behaving’ normal

Interesting...I never considered that as an option, though, my electrical prowess is holding me back a bit...

Has anyone done this with success...either the resistor addition or removing the cats on their 'charged 5.7?

I removed the cats on my 2010 sc tundra and used that urd o2 simulator and had nothing but problems. Would give codes a lot especially when it got wet. I eventually had a shop weld some high flow cats in. Didn’t notice any power difference.

I wouldn’t do it man. If you want more sound and power get long tube headers and a tune. Simply removing the cats will likely not give your desired outcome.

Good to know...I know boosted vehicles can gum up the cats over time unless less restrictive versions are used...perhaps if anything, high flows installed...or just leave it...

    Thanks for the info. :drunk:
