Like the title says. I'm newish to sequoia ('15 Ltd 2wd), last Oct, so never really operated the a/c much or at least not in such hot/humid weather as the last couple months in central texas.

Its mostly just 1 or 2 of us using this beast with covid camping out in austin so I never though to turn on the rear a/c, finally woke up to that reality and it does make a big difference when the vehicle has been parked in the afternoon texas sun.

Now, while I think the a/c is adequate on the sequoia is it not as good (effective and daxm cold) as my 2001 4runner, which has never had its a/c worked on!

Plus 4runner of that generation have an extra 'crotch' cooler duct midway down the steering, no matter how long or how hot outside, no one can operate it on High longer than 10-15 mins without needing to turn the fan speed Down, incredible.

When in the same situation with the sequoia the most I can get away with is to turn down the rear to Medium, front still stays at the top bar to feel comfortable.

Do these vehicles have a 'sight' glass? Maybe it is just a tad low?

My 3rd gen 4runner, and every one I've been in, has bar none the best and most powerful climate controls of any vehicle I've been in (which is 90% Toyotas). My Tundra, even my girlfriends 4th gen, are pathetic compared to both heating and cooling from the 3rd gen.

The Sequoia ac does struggle, but it’s a good bit of real estate to cool. It gets cool enough, but not in a hurry.
