Just breaking her in. She has only let me down once, and it was my fault.

Thats on the agenda. I think the new breather is around here on one of these threads somewhere.

What brand gear oil again? Or does it matter?
My brain is having a fart at the moment

It should be in the info dump page I think. When I did it I forgot to run the line so I just have that piece for now. Good thing I live in a damn desert...

Not sure whether I wamt to run in it into the gas tank fill nozzle area like PHM or behind the tail light. Taillight I think would be easier to get to should I need to, and I think it would stay cleaner?

Ever since replacing my tailgate with a new one and stupidly throwing away the old tumbler, I've never been able to lock it.

Yesterday I discovered that evidently my scrapyard sometimes sells keys with the vehicles, and I was able to pull a matching key and tailgate lock cylinder for $5 instead of paying over $100 at a dealership. Just a quick and satisfying mod! Now I'll be even safer when truck camping.

Finished and even had the chance to use the Firestone springs!

The worst part by far was making the lower bracket work with the Deaver spring packs. I had to cut the hell out of the bracket and make it fit in the leaf bracket.

After I was able to make that work, the rest was smooth sailing for the most part. I had to get new bolts for the lower bracket since they were barely too short to clamp the leafs. I used some red threadlocker on everything and torqued everything down.

I really like those Daystar Cradles considering I off-road my 2wd more than I tow with it. I used the bags to tow a trailer to my local dump and it made the ride feel way better. I couldn't even tell I really had a trailer!

I really want to look at my PCV valve and see what it looks like, but I don't know enough about it to confidently take it apart. Is the VVTi pcv system the same as the pre VVTi?

A little hillbilly engineering and it's "fixed".

Good thing I'm off for 2 weeks, I'll grab 2 new sensors and nuts to actually fix it.

FWIW, went to a local locksmith, brought him my front door lock & he made me a key for it.
He offered to 'fix' my Tacoma (we were talking) for me. I hate 1 key for door, 2nd key for ignition. He offered to match them so only 1 key for a very reasonable price. You can likely find a local locksmith who will match that lock cylinder to your current Tundra key. oddly simple for someone that knows what they're doing.

Installed a wireless charger, phone mount today for future road trip purposes.

    https://youtu.be/95vX2McWtRY

Thought it appropriate to represent in the video...

    Big gurll link....
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PDG5FND?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

So far I like it. It does shake very lightly when traveling as anything with some sort of articulated arm will. Does not hinder the digital map purposes.

I have noticed that while it does wirelessly fast charge my S10+ its much slower than the cord by roughly 40 minutes. To get this number I used the phones own estimated time to full.

During testing cord was 1hr, and 4 minutes at about 27% battery. Wireless fast charge was about 1hr, and 45 minutes.

I don't think its the phone mounts fault, but the technology of wirelessly charging things.

Color matched silver for bonus points!

That's a great idea, one I might do in the future someday. I currently have different keys for my doors, gas door, camper, and tailgate. It would be nice to just have one key. Probably wouldn't be cheap though.

If you find a local locksmith, dusty been there forever shop, it will be fairly inexpensive. IIRC (7 years ago) I paid $20 to recore the lock & have 2 keys cut to it. 1 key was free, but i wanted 3.

Here in California, as soon as any toyota tundra or tacoma gets posted as available it gets absolutely destroyed. I'm surprised how much is still there.

I’ve been looking for a set of ditch brackets that require no trimming. SDHQ makes some for my 4runner but no 1st gen love from them

After having multiple close deer encounters my tundra needs ditch lights.

I thought I had read in their instructions, slight trimming may be required on the cowl.

I picked up a set of OEM running boards yesterday for cheap, but I'm having a hard time locating anything on how these are installed..

Need some reference photos for where to put the oem access cab side step supports.

Yes you do have to trim. It's not hard.
This is the driver's side. I just cut off the last 2 maybe 3 inches of the cowl. Will have zero problems when the rain comes.
. These are the Hot Metal Fab mounts
