I wouldn't download that bullshi"t. Screw them.

 

I have no issues downloading it. It specifically mentions that it includes contract tracing APIs. In other words, it won't work unless there's an app installed that does contract tracing, which there isn't if you don't download it; and in any event, it's opt-in.

The authority would NEVER be abused. Sleep comfortably folks. But before you fall asleep just remember: they will NEVER abuse their authority. NEVER.

 

Y'all do remember when the carriers were selling your location data without anyone knowing about it, right?

This definitely presents some privacy concerns, but 1) it's opt-in, and 2) it's got so many eyeballs on it that I doubt there will be abuse... For now.

 

Just another step towards their control over everything you do. You won't be able to take a shit soon without the toilet having an ass-ID scan.

 

If I'm somewhere that I need to wear a mask, I probably can't guarantee that my hands are clean and thus wouldn't touch my phone anyway.

 

I usually wait a week or so before I dl any update, unless it is critical.
