Got the o2 bung welded onto the cat. Drilled the hole and installed my o2 sensor.

Now the wait of hardware so I can finalize this header/exhaust install...................................................................................................I don't think it's even shipped yet!!! JBA Hardware is just sitting there, looking shiny...patience, I'm working on it.

 

Made the decision and ordered the Walker stainless muffler for the truck. Big Gurl made it easy and had it $25 off the regular price.

Thought about the Thrush glasspack and after looking at the pipe it won't easily clamp on.

 

Well I pulled the coilovers off, took them to Cooters garage and used their bench mounted spring compressor, I wouldn’t even think of renting those death compressors. Anyways, New top hats, I set both on the same clip; used to be 8driver 6pass, with 3/4 differences in height, so I set both on 7th clip. The passenger side was the one making contact during travel, I tried reclocking the spring, re clocking the top hat, but nothing seemed to help really. It looks better than it did, and hopefully I just needed a C hair of clearance. I’m not sure if billy bob would warranty that or not. It’s a tad bit TOASTY outside, so I’ll drink a few tasty beverages and get down in a few hours

 

Raptor lining the kayak rack for it. I originally bought this ‘bed liner’ to do my rear bumper and fender flares but it’s permanent so I’ve had it sitting on the shelf for months because I’ve been too scared. Two cans of this stuff is gonna get me a pinch over 3 coats on this so be warned it goes fast. Also wasn’t sure how the color would match my white tundra and if it would turn yellow down the road or not

Did you ever end up coating it with anything before winter set in? I remember you asking about it. A lot of guys claim the Wool Wax lasts longer than Fluid Film. I would try something next fall.

nope. I just ran out of time. It's only in the joints that it's started seeping orange. The control arms, leaf springs, and body sure took a beating though.

Not yet. Still rained out I don't want to work in the rain with new expensive parts, but I'll damn sure go fishing in the rain

 

Amazon, they are only about 8 bucks, the trick is installing them. You need a spring punch so you dont break the latch with hammer.

Just so you know you have to press the wheel bearing off to do the backing plates.



which means you have to do the wheel bearings too

 

One can of PB Blaster Penetration Spray and about 10 minutes will cure it. Plan on oil rubbing this summer when the grease is soft an flows like Cherry Ice Cream down that Dusty River.

 

Yeah... I've been thinkering about that one. Starting to think that this job is beyond my capabilities.

Dan, how crucial is it that the rounded "border" be there on the backing plate?



Mine are crusty, and degraded, but the plate itself feels okay on the outside. Obviously unsure of the condition on the inside since I have not had a chance to tear it down again.

Looking through the "star wheel" hole, it seemed to me everything on the inside was just dusty from shoes.

If the "border" isn't that important I may skip that piece for now, and cancel order.

EDIT: This is the only picture I found of mine. Driver's side. Passenger's side is roughly the same.


At this point guessing it depends on what I find on the inside?

 

I plan to fluid film the whole thing top and bottom when I replace the bed, fenders and doors.

 

My FF washed off after 6 months. Grease layer is for life. Should be real easy with the bed off which ever method you choose. Most rust starts in the frame overlap areas on our frames and a penetrant fits the bill. Reason for the PB Blast recco.

 

2006 Tundra Limitied 4x4 190000 miles
Just put 5100 Bilsteins on the front and rear. Lifted 1.5 in the front. Also went up to 275/70/17 Milestar Patagonia tires. (i know they are cheap tires)
Rides great now.

 

Shot my 6th application of PB Penetrant in 3 days on all 4 o2 Sensors. Whoa! My head hurts from typing all those numbers.

 

what setting and oem springs?
