I primed the rack tonight. I’m hoping to Raptor line it this weekend. Stay tuned.

Since you’re not sure of the final tweaks yet, I think it would probably be fine for a bit just how it is on the truck. Save yourself the trouble of grinding down and re-raptor lining later. Or you could add a layer of black spray paint/primer to give it a little additional protection from the elements and make it the right color (for now).

    Looks great!

Thanks! Fair enough, I might try this, as it will need to be lightly sanded prior to bedline anyway. I’ll see how my ADD is this weekend haha, maybe I’ll be able to refrain from spraying it :)

Ok, the shop got a little crazy last night. I decided to mod my taillights unlike anyone else (as far as I know).

First, I broke all the lenses off the housings. Then cut holes up top for the led truck brake lights. I’m going to buy clears for the reverse ones below today. Once done, I will bedline the light housings color matched Quicksand to match the truck body. These will be easy to swap on the trail if a light breaks as well as makes the tail lights a bit smaller and less bulky (imho :))Thoughts?

I went and picked up reverse lights this morning. The lower holes are a bit too big to fit the 4” led’s, so more modification was needed. I cut out some plastic to fill in the lower bulbs refractor openings that I cut out. Now the epoxy is drying. Once dry, I’ll cut new lights mount holes and primer!

Ok I added some bondo to the filler piece to strength, then cut out the lower light hole once dry. I’m in a bit of a wiring pickle now... As the tundra has separate loops for signal and brake lights, it seems I need to keep the circuits separate. So, that means I either have to buy new lowers with a signal light included and add signal lights as pictured (none in town so have to order and wait). The strip I would drill hood in the housing and mount the led strip behind the housing I’m thinking if I go that route. Thoughts? Tips?

I finished the lights up today. I added stand alone dot signals and a 10” red underglow led strip signal per side. Also, I tied in and mounted the resistors. I’ll take some lit pics tonight for y’all. Despite the rough finish on the light housings, I’m happy as I’m sure the Quicksand bedliner will hide the imperfections. I will leave them primed until I do the whole body, for perfect color matching.

Well here’s the end setup. This allows me to have a spare universal reverse and taillight incase for some reason one breaks. These are also the same taillights in our horse trailer, so that’s handy. Once the light housings are color matched should look pretty neat imo :) Kind of an exo-taillight haha.

Haha, well there are a few imperfections. The light housings have a few cracks from years of use. I epoxied what I could and am hoping the bedliner covers the rest :burp:

This will be one of the very few things I cannot take credit for on the goat. I got a shop to remove the 12 year old front catalytic converters and the old housings from the rear ones I gutted a while back. Anyway, he did a real good job on it and used mandrel bends. It sounds a lot crisper and better downshifting now. Used to sound a tad groggy. I’m stoked on the results.

Got the sliders and rear bumper rust proofed today! Por-15 for the win!! I’m very impressed with it so far. I’m rolling these because I’ll be covering them with bedliner after. I have to say por-15 is user friendly as it seems to self-level and smooth out. Glad I got the them weather proofed, as it’s supposed to rain on and off this weekend. Front bumper rust removal next up!

Had quite a productive day today with rust removal and por-15 coating. Didn’t snap a pic, but did the wiper arms as well. All of this black stuff will be coated with black Raptor liner next.

My Dad gave me this old spare bumper light housing he found he had! How handy since just the driverside one on my bumper was cracked! Score!!!
