Swapping out JBL head unit and Amp for 2020 Platinum

I have the amp, sub and associated wiring complete.
I am awaiting an ADS MMR2 to be shipped.
I bought and received a HRN TO2 adapter harness, but none of the connectors fit anything that goes into the JBL head unit.

I'm almost to the point of splicing, but I really don't want to do that.

Did I buy the wrong harness? Should I have bought the HRN TO3? Am I just way to early on this type of change out?

Things I have and can figure out are the usb adapters, the antennas for XM and GPS, and blue tooth mic.

Bare bones, I just NEED +12V, ACC, Reverse, Parking, Illumination and FM antenna.
But of course I WANT back up camera, heads up display, tire pressures, etc.. I'm hoping the data link takes care of most of that.

Welcome to the forum..
For one thing you are way over-thinking all this.
I'm pretty sure the TO2 is what you need.

Just a few quick things;
Your Maestro will plug into your factory wiring harness.
Your Kenwood will plug/be wired into your Maestro.
You'll need to run the Kenwood BT mic to the the visor area, you can't use the stock mic.





You don't need to cut any wires.
You'll need a SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner if you want XM with your Kenwood.

You'll need a Maestro Acc-USB-TO2 to retain your dash USB, the 3.5 jack will not work anymore (if you have one).
You'll need a Maestro ACC-SAT-TO2 to connect you XM antenna to the XM tuner.
You can use your Kenwood GPS antenna and mount it under the center dash speaker.

You need to look up your wiring diagram on the Maestro website.
I'm not sure if the 2020 is different from the 2019.

Unfortunately, the wiring connectors coming out of the dash are different from the 2019. The TO2 harness doesn't fit any one of the connectors. I did order the USB and satellite adapters.

 

Maybe the 2020 changes made for carplay and stuff have changed the wiring..

 

The 2020 changed the connectors on the radio, you may have to wait for companies to make compatible adapters.
On FB a few weeks ago James with Tech12volts commented about having to make a harness to work with the 2020 to avoid splicing. You may reach out to him to see if he will be making that custom harness.

 

I did contact James. Apparently, the Crux 61C kit will work. It's another $100 to my already piling up rebuild price tag, but anything is better than the stock.

How did you run your mic to the overhead area?

 

I removed the left dash speaker cover, the pillar cover, panel under the steering wheel.
i used a 3' zip tie to feed the wire from behind the steering wheel to the radio and then up to the dash speaker opening.
Ran the wire thru the dash, up the pillar, then tucked the wire up and over the headliner.
Clipped the clip onto the edge of the headliner.







If it interests you, you can do the driver's side pillar handle mods since you'll have the cover off anyway.
