engine sounds like diesel after belt and water pump change

    Is the timing setup correctly? Sounds like the belt is off a tooth or two?

    who did the timing belt?

    Lots more info needed about what you did before anyone here can diagnose it. Year of truck, size of engine,....what exactly was done to it? Lots of smart people here who can help you if you can explain it better to them. Good luck.

    with out looking at it sounds like its out of time. Id also look at the hydrostatic tensioner
