Guys, I just had 6112's installed in the front and 5160's rear. I read in the instructions that the springs for the front had to be mounted with the part numbers right side up. Install shop put one in upside down. Is this going to be a problem? I plan on going to them tomorrow if they are open on Saturday with the Wuhan going around.
Mainly need to know if the spring is going to be a problem.

Why test it? Make those fools do it right and have them redo the alignment again too.

So I went back to the install shop this morning and basically aired my concerns. Luckily the same tech that did the install was there and I was able to speak with him. He informed me that he also noticed the part numbers on the springs, however these springs only go in one way. He could not install that spring with the part number up. He tried to swap with the other side and no go. He stated he has seen that before on Bilstein shocks, although rarely, but he assured me the springs/shocks were installed correctly. I have used this shop for all of my front end/tire needs over the last several trucks and cars that me or my family has had so I take them at their word, and expect that they know what they are doing. This is not their first lift/shock install so they assured me again that all was proper. Plan on driving it until about Tuesday then dropping for the alignment. Will post a pic or two on Monday.

I don't see how they could install them incorrectly. Not my pic but they should look like this

There is a mark on the top plate that is supposed to face away from the truck. I don't know what happens if its 180 out. The mark is pretty obvious though.

Yeah, after him telling me that, your pic shows why he stated it only goes on one way. Guess Bilstein could have mis-printed the labeling, seems odd though. Everything seems to be handling fine and I am getting no noises or pops and both sides are within a 1/4" of each other. I go back Monday for alignment. Giving a day or so to settle.

So, I got the alignment and am impressed with the feel of my Tundra now. I don't know if it's just me or what, but I don't think it ever felt this good. Couple of pics. Went with the top setting on the 6112's as the shop tells me that they will settle some in the front. Pic next to my son in law's Raptor for height comparison. Next will be 33's. That's all she's gonna get!!

I'd get ahold of Bilstein and ask. I'm sure they are going to say to fix it. You may want to bring the correspondence into the shop with you.

The diameter of the coil is different between top and bottom. I would think there would be a definite fitment issue.

There’s no way they could be installed wrong honestly. I mean, someone couple probably try, but it would be obvious.

Well, I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with Bilstein USA and the install technician I spoke with at length told me the springs were linear, same at both ends, although the pics above some of you attached show it to appear smaller on the down side. He said he sees where the instructions call for the labeling to be right side up, but it does not matter and won't hurt anything. I asked him multiple times and went over my scenario and he definitely told me it would not hurt anything. If my OCD keeps me up at night, then he suggested I go back to my install shop and get it corrected. At this point, I don't want to cause any un-necessary time charged back to my shop as they told me they stand behind their work and assured me if anything went wrong, they would make good on it, and with the alignment being nearly perfect and the truck driving better than it ever did, I think I'm good.
