Pretty sure they’re rough country, trying to order a set but they want to charge me $50 to ship it to Hawaii. Damn!!

 

Finished up the AJT bits and then painted the 4x4 ring and shifter Matt black.

 

It was a bitch to do solo with no ramps or jacks but I got it done.

Haha saw that 1 coming. You think like me. I'm about to do the same but mine are the stock 16 pro housings. I did upgrade to led bulbs, the gtr kit, and performance wise theres a huge difference in better performance over how they came stock. Bare with me guys but someone will be getting a perfect set with great bulbs, lifetime warranty, for a great price soon as I'm ready. Imo they're not quite as visually appealing as the new OEM leds but they are significantly better looking than the non pro housings. I almost didn't even do this because I didn't think it would be that much of an upgrade, both in looks and performance. At night they actually look pretty damn cool with these bulbs.


Even daytime they look much better than non pro housings imo.

 

You won’t regret it man!...yours do look good but these TRD Pro’s are hands down my favorite!...post some pics when ya get em on!

What bulb did you use for the little marker lights on the sides?

 

Tnx Pat will do. I got everything to make the change, including leds to the side markers and turns with resistors. The only issue I have now is finding the time between work
and all this craziness going on to find some time to make the change. I want to knock it all out 1 shot without having to go back to add or change. So right now I'm hurrying up and waiting.

I am excited to make the switch and have heard good things. They do look great especially when off compared to my current setup. Yours looks amazing btw. I'll definitely keep you guys in mind and will include some pics when I'm done. Least this time it won't be any issue if I just get into doing it and forget to take pics of the process, since I'm certainly not the 1st to do this.

Honestly I'm not so sure performance wise it's gonna make a difference to my current setup, which is partly why it took me so long to pull trigger. My current setup has pretty good output and actually look pretty damn cool when on. I will say for sure when off the new leds take the cake.

Just placed my order for a set of 2019 TRD Pro headlights. Can't wait.

 

I found these tiny flat surface mount LEDs on Amazon. They are very bright. I need to put in a resistor to tone it down. I put a tiny hole in the plastic piece that holds the cig lighter, etc. I just tied them into the cig lighter power. On when truck is on.

Hey Travis good to hear from ya, hope all is well out ur way. If you mean my old setup I only used the gtr kit from HR to replace the halogen headlights with their kit, both the turns and sides are stock halogens. I found them both to be plenty bright without needing to replace, unlike the new led oems. I gotta say for throwing in a led bulb into a halogen housing the cutoff is pretty good, I never get flashed, and they bright as hell. They're so bright they even refract around the housing giving that appearance that there's a led strip around them like this. For some of you guys who want both an appearance and performance upgrade without breaking the bank this gtr kit does the job. Plus what's not to love about a lifetime guarantee on them.



If your talking about my new setup, yet to be installed, I was so impressed with my current setup I went with the same co on replacing the turns and sides with leds.

Wow if you notice the background of last pic you might get a sense of how bad my addiction to modding this truck is. Sad part there's plenty more too, I mean exhaust, crash bar, mats and many other parts aren't even in the pic, they're all spread out through the rest of my garage. Clearly I gotta sell some of this stuff before I buy anything else lol.

 

Thank you sir. Yes, the family is doing well, just doing what we gotta do. I just placed an order for TRD Pro LED headlights. Probably gonna go ahead and do the turn signals and side markers while I'm at it. Does your new setup on the led turn signals have built in resistors?
