Will the underseat storage box stick out and take away leg room in my crewmax and will it fit with my weather tech mats ?

It only fits in the raised space under the seat. If you have the extended mats, you will have to trim them.

I have the swing arm and LOVE it but will also be getting this in a few months as I also want to be able to lock certain items in the cab vs in the bed for when I need em. Both great choices.

I want that underseat storage. I just hate the idea of cutting those holes in the floor.

I just hate cutting on a new truck. Although I really don't know why Toyots didn't put these in there to begin with. How deep are the bins?

6-8" deep, plenty of room for securing a Glock pistol case...

I like this box, does it bolt on to the seat bolts or does it just drop into place?

I've got the plastic drop in one too. Super easy install. The box it comes in has a template on it. You can watch the YouTube install too. I've only had the truck 1 month and this was done 2 weeks ago. It's only about $85, and looks like a factory install.

After the first cut all the anxiety will be gone and you'll only be looking forward to the final finish. I promise you that....

Also allow me to interject something. Cut the carpet as clean as possible. That way you can separate the top piece of carpet from the bottom insulated side. Put the insulated side back in the hole between the storage box and the truck body and trim the carpet side to line the inside of your storage box to prevent things from sliding and banging around on you....

i ended up inserting "rubber" tool box drawer liner in the storage areas to keep stuff from rattling and sound mat material in between the box and floor metal spaces. I couldn't seem to get the carpet separated from the foam to reuse it.

I used the tolls they suggested. Used the template to mark it off where to cut. Razor blade to cut through the carpet, and the lynolium knife to cut through the styrofoam. Box slides down in it and you'd never know it wasn't factory. I used what I had to cut from my rubber floor liner to put in the bottom of each compartment.

First cut is the deepest! :p
I was scared shirtless too; not a mistake you can recover from. Just take your time. Measure twice, cut once.

Question...........when and how did you cut and mark your floormat? Did you re-use the templet to mark and cut or kind of guess-ta-mate by cuting the rubber floor mat over the cut out? Does this make sense?

    Check out this thread https://www.tundras.com/threads/under-seat-storage-installed.4279/

I used the template to mark the mats. Just made sure they were perfectly in place. I marked the mats with a sharpie and cut around the line. After that, I made sure the storage unit fit thru the holes. Then I used the mat to mark the floor. I used my kids sidewalk chalk LOL. Then cut out those holes in the carpet. Just take your time.

Ohhhh. You don't cut through the metal. That's what I was confused about. Haha that's not bad at all then.

Ha, no. You are just cutting carpet and Styrofoam. And it's very thick durable styrofoam, so cutting it like that doesn't weaken the rest.
