I mounted mine on a a RAM mount I got from Amazon, put it on the access handle since I don't have side airbag there's no danger on killing me if the driver's air bag deploys. I ran the OBD cable behind the dash board and trim. Is it worth it?, if you need it obviously it is, and I did need it because I did a full tranny fluid change (not a power flush) and wanted to keep my eye on the tranny's temp after the change. I also use the mount for my phone when not using the scangauge, that's why you'll see two different cables there

I ended up using an old Samsung Note 4 phone with the torque app. Big enough to see the dials and small enough that I don’t have a tablet taking up massive real estate. I only use it for road trips and when I’m pulling a TT though. Just got a magnetic car vent mount for it.

I’ve had both....I like SG2 better. I have it installed with the Blendmount on rear view mirror.

I've had my Scanguage for years long before there were "apps".
I have it in my 2006 Tundra and set it up for trans temp. I have no idea where I found the info to set it up.

Which torque app is that? I see several in the Play store... Also, what BT OBD unit are you using?

    Thanks!

Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) app is $2.00 or $5.00 I believe. Only available on the Android. - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_US

I recently used my UltraGauge while towing.

What transmission temps do you see? Mine were between 170 degrees and 230 degrees while towing on long inclines in 90+ degree weather.

What torque values do you see? I'm getting 270 lb-ft at 5000 feet elevation and 230 lb-ft at 10,000 feet elevation.

Are you able to get separate trans pan and trans temps on a 1st gen?

Those are for Torque Pro app but hopefully you can use them or someone can chime in for the UG solution

Thanks for confirming. I was able to configure UltraGauge to show what seem to be the Trans Pan and and Trans Torque Converter temps.
