This means you will be able to assign a different map to the tow button if wanted?

Yes, if the tow button is applied we can supply or create whatever we want to happen.

We already do this with 2 new tables (custom intake VVT table and Ignition Base) which constitutes "map 2"

If you have a 2019 or 2020 AND KNOW HOW TO USE TECHSTREAM, I can set you up with a tune.
limited (1) person. preferably 2020 for testing.

    preferably supercharged.

    ***
Also for flex fuel supercharged tundras that want to run E85 tunes, we have our own Dual, 640 LPH in tank pump setup and larger injector set on the way for true FLEX FUEL S/C
    (after necessary ecu updates)

Sign me up. 2020 SR5 non Flex fuel and no supercharger. I'm a Toyota tech so techstream use isn't an issue.

Also had your tune in my 2018 Tacoma and was the first one with it on that platform.

New version of S-Mode gearlock will have 2 functions

S-Mode Gearlock : 1 - Tow haul button is OFF - standard gearlock procedure
S-Mode Gearlock : 2 - Tow haul button is ON - Standard gearlock procedure + Torque converter will remain fully locked in all gears 5-100% throttle.

I would like to sign up as well.

I have techstream and I am very familiar with it.
I have a SR5 2019 non Flex fuel. No supercharger.

    Thank you in advance.

Wow, ok Mat, I'm a little dense so let me make sure I understand.

Gearlock will happen no matter what by moving into sequential mode. Whether or not your torque converter is locked depends on you activating the tow haul button. Do I have that right?

If the above is true, what happens if you would also like to have a different octane map? Will it only be applied by pressing tow haul while you are in drive?

Also, you can start from a stop in higher gear with gearlock. Not sure if I'll be adding this, but you can start from a stop in 2nd. Skipping 1rst

    That is correct.
The second map will also still apply.
So torque converter changes + second map

I see. So if I want the option to lock my torque converter while in s mode AND still run my main 93 tune, I can't have the tow haul button assigned to an additional octane map.

Am I understanding this right? Sorry, not trying to bust your balls, just making sure I understand correctly.

Thanks for taking the time to answer questions!

Yes you can, because torque converter changes only happen when you're in Tow + S

    D : map 1
    Tow : map 2
    S mode: gear lock
    S mode + tow: map 2 + gearlock + torque converter lock

OV, so when the new version of S mode becomes available for release, how do we get that? Do we submit a ticket on Zendesk or is this automatic update? I have the gear lock feature on my current tune. Thank You.

it will be available for all ecus. you do not have to request it if you have an open ticket with us.

Okay, I believe we have solved the flex fuel throttle loss issue on cold weather. It actually looks to be an error mis-match with injector scaling within Flex code.
Not even related to throttle at all, and why it was so hard to find.

Final thing being worked on before we can get everyone updated.
A few of you have mentioned to us about supercharged trucks feeling "choppy" at lower rpm (around 1200 to 2000 rpm) moderate throttle. Especially the harrops.
This is due to lack of fuel enrichments at these low rpm.
So, a new way of controlling when fuel is to be enriched is being writ right now...in hex.
(take a look at this pic, you'll understand why this takes so long!)

    patch.jpg

should have it wrapped up by the end of the week.

yes, direct shift works issue free from the first implementation. so definitely still in it.

here is our 3D fuel RPM v Load for SC trucks. (1 = fuel enrich ON)
    Testing tomorrow.

This should be the end of code writing and then all in on updating everyone

    Wow! Very cool

Mat, have you found a way to adjust the early shift in first gear? Wot shifts about 500 rpms too soon. Is this part of your code or just something that needs to be adjusted individually?

@OVTune ... If I may state a hypothetical, Mat, in order to clarify this in my mind, and you tell me if I am correct in this.....

In D with TOW off, MAP 1. If I then move to S, and while in S, push the TOW button in order to engage TC lock, MAP 1 will still be in effect, and not change to MAP 2 just because I engage the TOW for TC lock. In other words, while in S, the TOW button will not change MAPs, but will only engage or disengage TC lock. If I wanted to change MAPs, I would have to move the shift lever back to D.

This seems to be the desirable setup to me, but I want to know if it's the case.... TOW having two different and separate functions depending on whether you are in S or D.

Interesting, I emailed OV about having an early shift in third gear when easing into the throttle.

Yes I can change the shift point for any gear including 1rst.

regarding the rpm v load fuel enrichment factor table

You can see on the RIGHT > the blue line is 100% engine load, and the ECU normally enriches only above 70+% throttle open, which means load of 110-120%
At moderate throttle, and low rpm (lets say 50%) you are still locked into 14.7 AFR, and you do not get enrichment at these loads (80,90%).
This is causing the choppiness / sputtering / rough feeling on the Harrop.
By altering it with 3D mapping, the areas in black are enrichments under 100% load so that the ECU will give this needed additional fuel.
    blue line is @100% load.

I'm testing this today, hopefully it all goes smooth and we have this ready for S/C folks along with all other features.

If we are in D (not s-mode) and tow haul button is ON, do we get a different automatic shift pattern??

The reason I ask is because I will rarely shift the truck manually, but it would be super cool to have an aggressive automatic shift pattern for when I'm going hard off road. Like, pressing tow haul ON will cause automatic shift to be firm and tight, and hold rpms a little higher.

Yes. The truck already does this when you press the Tow Haul button. Have you not noticed that in Tow Haul, even on stock tune the shifts are different and it holds RPM higher?

Yes, I have noticed with the factory tune that the tow mode shifts better when driving aggressively that why I asked about your tune.

I have not had a chance to try tow mode with your tune yet. I just havent heard you mention it so I thought I would ask
