There was a professional detailer on another board that used Zaino like I do. However, he uses it very differently from me. I thought I share this with you. Thank to Steve for this.

Wash, clay, then I use Zaino All-In-One (a polish), I load up a Meguiar's MF Pad, not heavy, but just enough to cover the pad. Then I will do a panel, hood, roof or trunk. I run the buffer (Porter Cable at speed 4) until the product is almost gone. Then put 4 dime sized drops, one in each corner of the pad., do a panel or 1/2 a panel, depending on it's size. For instance a Corvette C4,C5,C6 door would get two shots of 4 drops.

I clean the pad after each panel, or change the pad. If you have access to a compressor, even better as I blow out the dust after each panel.

The saying in my shop was, if you can see Zaino, it is too thick. Thin is the best look.
I never use just one pad for the entire car.

I let the All-In-One dry completely, then wipe it off.
I do a Z-8 (Grand Finale Spray) over the entire car.
Then do Clear Seal, again very, very thin coats. Same thing as above a door would have one, maybe two sprays at most. A hood three sprays, and so on
I then start putting on Z-8 where I started with the Clear Seal.
In essence you are using the Z-8 to wipe down the Clear Seal. Clear Seal dries pretty quick, so you don't actually remove it.
I repeat the process of Clear Seal and Z-8 two more times.

If a customer wants the show car polish, I will apply it after the Z-8 spray on the first coat of Clear Seal/Z8.

I mix two drops of ZFX and 1 oz of polish.
Then I dot the applicator from one corner to the other creating an X on the applicator. Once again very tiny drops. I will work in the drops to ensure the product is spread a bit.
Apply the Z-2, or Z-5, let it dry, remove it, then go over the car with Z-8.
No more than 2 coats of Z-2, or Z-5 at one setting, so to speak. 12 hours later you can do more Z-2, Z-5, but it needs time even with ZFX.
As I said, if you can see the Z-2, Z-5 it is too thick. As you apply the show car polish you will see the "trails" of product.
If you do get it too thick, try to spread it before it dries.
The show car polish is dry, when you wipe a thicker portion with your finger with medium pressure and it comes clean.

Zaino maximizes over night or in the sun, a couple of hours.

He gets paid to have the patience :). Plus this is show car prep. Not sure it's daily driver prep.

HAHAHHAHAHHA.....Full disclosure....I am NOT, never have been, never will be a salesman for Zaino. upload_2020-1-6_5-50-2.png:)

However, I do use their products and understand why you asked the question.

It is frustrating. There seem to be so many great products on the market. Due to the obvious financial issue and the amount of work required nobody can try them all. That is why I read this section and ask questions.
Plus, I believe you can learn a lot from detailers that do this for a living.

So, since my Godson, a professional detailer recommended AMMO products I will try AMMO Reflex Foundation Coat and then AMMO Skin defense seal on one car (maybe the new truck when it arrives). I may also try AMMO on HALF my boat with Zaino and Collinite 885 Fleet paste wax on the other half. BTW: the AMMO developer did mention cars are paint and boats are gel coat. He said he wasn't sure how the AMMO would do on a boat and recommend I use a marine wax. A fair statement.

Then I may try that detailers way of prepping cars on my black Corolla XRS. And my usual way on my wife’s Honda Civic.

I try not to get stale in life. Trying new things is key to not doing the same old, same old.

It is winter on Long Island. Not a good time to detail. Maybe April I can do this. I can take pics and let you guys know (and see) the results come Oct, when I do it again to prep the cars for winter. The boat will also be telling. Nothing last too long in the marine environment. Anyone I Long Island is welcome to join me with another (different) way.

    Maybe I need a Gopro? :p

That's quite a process.....not sure I could keep up with that. Got any pics of the finished product you'd like to share?

I have not performed his process. I may try it in the future. If I do, I will take pics. My process is different. I posted it because he is a professional and it is totally different than what I do.
