Just wondering if anyone else has a problem with or has noticed any elevated oil usage during the break-in period. I am very anal about oil in my cars and trucks. The Taco 4.0 didn't burn any in the 80'+ that I owned it and my wife's Corolla doesn't.
I did an oil change on mine approx. 1000-1200 miles ago and just checked it yesterday and noticed that it was down .5 on the dipstick after setting for 20min.
I know I'm still in the break-in period but if it's using .5/1' now what will it be later.

Never an issue here. I stick to my routine maintenance and no issues reported.

I remember reading somewhere that Toyotas acceptable oil consumption is 1qt for ever 1200 miles, which I find ridiculous.

Keep us posted on what happens. In 82k miles on my Tundra, it maybe used 1/4qt every 5000 miles, but not always. Usually when I was flogging the truck towing.
