I have a 16 CM OR and I tow a travel trailers that’s about 7k all fully loaded. The mannerisms with out the trailer are great. With them not so much.

My suspension is feeling really squishy despite having a WDH set up professionally and having it checked again by a second shop and whats worse is the truck has less than 50k miles. I want to get rid of some of the squishyness but secretly I also want to go UP. So I’m hoping I can just swap out the shocks with 5100 and 6122 and that will help with the porpoising and sway and maybe gimme a little lift as well. Do I need to go leafs in the back as well?

I called a certain vendor and I was told that since Bilsteins are regressive that it would make the rig unstable at highway speeds. They recommended that I go the OME route to get a lift and stability but that goes opposite of what I read from the well respected Attutune article which said regressive are better under load.

    Thoughts?

I would add an Air-Lift kit, and maybe a rear sway bar before changing shock & springs.

Good advice here. Going up to E rated tires might help with the porpoising as well.

 An excuse to change my tires is always a good thing. Then again going from 275/65 to 285/75 probably isn't going to help much even if they're LT e-rated tires? Or am I wrong on that?

Will the sway bar help porpoising though or just sway?

Won't doing airbags and WDS kinda cancel each other out?

Also can I put a sway bar on if I do 1" shackles on the back?

You might want to look at Falcon Shocks.

    https://teraflex.com/shop/category?utf8=✓&q=13-04-32-400-002&view=6

The rear shocks have adjustments for towing/hauling to firm up the rear of the truck. They won't give you any kift, but they can accommodate a small amount of lift, up to about 1". A few people on here have experience with them.

@mac10tuna created a thread a while back about them which you should be able to find by searching Falcon Shocks.

@Redleg and @Taco-Bender might have some input as I believe they have Falcons installed.

IMG_7947.jpg I tow a 8000k RV trailer. yes, the rear suspension needed help. I went with the Firestone air bags. ( $280 off Amazon) Before the rear would squat 3.5". With 40 psi in the bags it squats 1/2". When not towing I go back to 10 psi for a "normal" Tundra ride. I also upgraded to a higher capacity tire (General APT's) for the 20" Limited rims.

The hitch capacity on a Tundra is only 980 lbs. The RV I bought is very heavy for it's 29' length. (Outdoors RV Timber Ridge 24 rks). And I'm perfectly level truck and trailer.

Air bag, sumo spring, timbren, superspring, all of them act like helper spring. Depend on how heavy you tow, adjustability, or you just want install it and never look at it again. sway bar don’t do much on load, it still squats the same but help when you turn.

I vote for an AAL to improve the softness.
