Im at 2.5 with two shims on the driver and 1 on the passenger. Visually it looks exactly the same on both sides. When I get measurements that will determine but even then its impossible to see the difference if there is one. Every single truck will be different though

    6112/5160 2.5 +2 driver 1 pass CB shims, CB+3 shackles,
Okay. I’m really trying to like everyone here but damn! Lol. All I’ve done is spend $$$! 6112/5160’s arrived last week, waiting on shims from CB, +3 shackles from CB, bumper shims from CB and bumpstop extensions from CB. My original plan was to go top setting on 6112’s with 2 shins driver side and one on passenger side, run factory trd 18 wheels with either 285/75/18 or 295/70/18 wildpeaks. I may have to add bora 1.25 spacers to fit the 295’s, but I’m really concerned I will need to add new uca’s! Not sure what’s going to work best as far as the uca’s go so once again I’m at a frustrating stage! Maybe I should just go 1.9 on the 6112’ rather than 2.5. I’d welcome any thoughts, experience, pics! I drive a 2017 sr5 trd in silver.

I was in the shop when the fella before me put on some 295/70/18 on the stock wheels and suspension. There was definite rubbing by the front bumper area and had to remove the front splash guard and remold the lining. The bumper shims would definitely help. You might want to look at the spacer if you are not changing your UCA. It might be cutting it close.

Yeah, just wondering if I would be better off going with the 6112’s set at 1.9 vs the original plan of 2.5. Really trying to stay away from having to change the uca’s. But if I go 1.9 and need new uca’s to get proper alignment then I’ll be pissed I didn’t go 2.5. Lol. Argggggggg

My opinion is that 1.9 looks stock. My buddy is at 1.9 and always says he is going to move his up when he has time. Again just my opinion. But if I’m spending the money I want a noticeable difference. I put together my full suspension over a year time frame then installed all at once. Better to do it right the first time. I think if you do 1.9 you will always wish you did 2.5

Have you had any issues with the TSS sensor with this setup?

I totally agree with this one. I asked the mechanic to set it up to 1.9" but ended up setting it to 2.5". I didn't realize this until a few days later. I like the 2.5" and am glad I didn't go with 1.9".

I would keep at least a 1" rake to keep the TSS system happy.

Got the 6112s on yesterday set at 1.3", still have a bit of rake which is perfect. Scheduled to get my 275/60r20s on next Wednesday, aligned and everything re-torqued. Was thinking I maybe should have went with a 275/65r20 tire after seeing the wheel well room but the extra cost and weight of the tire doesn't fit with the number of miles I put on the truck.

Thanks for the advice. Is there any way around that? How do so many people go with a 3/1 lift if you still need rake?

People go with a 3/1 to level the truck. One of the side effects of this is the TSS not working properly for the most part. People like me like the rake and happens to use the truck for towing. Towing a trailer tends to lower the rear and sometimes give you a negative rake. Hence you have the adjustable headlights.

Will I need to upgrade UCAs with them set at 2.5" and two shims? That's my biggest concern.

I recommend it. My bro is at that setting on driver side and 1 less shim on the passenger. Both his UCA joint showing signs of leakage, but no boot tear.

Can you post pictures and details of your setup? I don't want to regret doing the 1.9" simply to avoid the new UCAs.

Bilstein 6112 set at top 2.5” 2 cb shim on driver 1 on pass. JBA upper control arms, rear Bilstein 5100 with cb +3 shackles and carrier Bering drop. Wheels are 18x9 +20 offset tires 295/70/18 Nitto Terra Grappler. Before this truck I had a 15 tundra dc with a 3” spacer lift and had issues I ended up putting total chaos arms on that truck to fix my problems. On this truck I didn’t want to skip anything so I went ahead and did the UCAs with the lift. Picked JBA for price and reviews, and have enjoyed them.

Thanks for the information. So why is the shim needed on the passenger side to fix the driver side lean? Isn't that basically the same as just doing one shim on the driver side?

Just a little more height up front. David at cb suggested it since I don’t do much towing and wanted to get it as close to level as possible.

Stock rake is around 3”. I have 6112@2.5 in front with 1 CB shim on driver’s side and CB +3 shackles (gives 1.75” lift) will leave around will leave around 1” rake. I have a rake because 1) I tow 2) didn’t want to level the truck 3) preventative measure for TSS issues when leveled.

I did. Went with Icon Delta Joints. Just in case i have to bring it to a different tire shop to get it aligned. Not all tire shops have a tech that is knowledgable in aligning lifted trucks.

They always try to go with factory specs but since the truck is lifted, those numbers get limited because of the change a lift brings. One advantage of aftermarket UCAs is that you can get factory camber settings easier.

For the most part, you can still get proper alignment with stock UCAs with a knowledgable alignment technician.

Thanks for the feedback. I am installing my 6112/5160 setup here in the next week or so and trying to decide on what i want to put in the rear. For all of your sames issues, stagnant bed weight, towing and TSS, i still would like at least 1" of rake. Since I am going with the 1.9" up front, i am leaning towards air bags. How have the CB shackles been? I don't know too much about them but open to any advice or feedback.

I have CB +3 shackles and Firestone Airbags. The shackles help provide a 1.75” lift and bed bounce. These shackles are robust. My only compliant is that I won’t be able to fit a 34” spare because of it.

I leave the Airbags at 5-10psi when not towing. I usually air it up about 40-55psi to get my rake back when I’m towing. They’ve been a great addition when towing.

6112's top setting no shims. 5160's out back w/ Toytec shackles set at 1". 295/70r18 Falken Wildpeaks. I have slight rake, but prefer that look over having it dead level. Will be upgrading to TC UCA's down the line.

Any major issues fitting those tires other than plastic trimming?

I just had the front fender liner removed, so no issues.
