Cruise Control/Horn DOA

I just purchased an 03 Tundra and neither the cruise control or horn work. Any chance they are o the same circuit? On what fuse?

Typically when both go it means the spiral cable has snapped.

 

Yup. Sounds like a bad spiral cable

 

What the heck is that? The cable through the steering column?
Does anyone know the OEM part number off the top of their head?

Hmmm, the Toyota part is about $280 and the aftermarket part is about $12. I believe in OEM when possible, but this seems pretty extreme. What experience have folks had with the aftermarket options?

 

84306-0C021 is the correct part number for a 2003 model.

I just don't know if I could trust an aftermarket part like that when it comes to the airbag.

What part is that? I've got my old steering wheel just sitting here. If it's a part off that maybe I can help.

 

its the piece with the yellow wire hanging off on your column

 

I had a feeling. Well OP, if it ends up being a piece off the wheel let me know.

 

I had a busted clock spring for ages on my last Tundra after a repair shop botched a steering rack install.

I finally swapped it out and it took maybe 15 minutes.
