My new tundra with 300 miles on it got broken into. The officer stated I was the third theft of the early morning. All at local gyms and all tundras. The thieves were breaking the rear side windows, and not opening the doors. So apparently the alarm doesn’t sound for breaking glass. Has anyone else heard of, or experienced this with their tundra? Does anyone know of a good basic add on alarm system? Preferably one with a pager or alert to a phone, so I could go out and introduce myself to the thieves.

If I remember correctly, I think there's a thread here that relates to a glass breakage sensor. From my understanding, our trucks have this capability, all the wiring is there but there is "blank" left in it's place.

All you need to do is buy the Toyota glass breakage sensor (essentially a microphone?), install it, and then get it activated at your dealer. I think this was the case for up to 2018 if I recall, but not sure about 2019 or 2020.

yup. Its just a microphone that detects the sound of breaking glass. You buy it, plug it in, and turn it on in techstream. All the tundras have the alarm built in... its just not activated and you may not have the glass break sensor.

If you don't have the alarm, this should provide both, but you may not need anything but sensor. Check fitment (there may be other part numbers): https://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/oem-parts/toyota-vehicle-intrusion-protection-vip-pt39834142

Haven't heard of Tundra specific crimes out in the "Car theft capital" of the US.
Modesto (Murder, Meth, and Auto theft).
    We have zombies everywhere..
    Honda.. Honda.. Honda
Maybe a saturn if it's still running.
Nissan on occasion but it's always the ex-girlfriends car or some nonsense.

Lots of break Ins but it's not specific. Tweakers are lazy. Bag in pass seat etc, rock through window at 2AM kinda thing.

Interesting thread -- didn't know there was a glass break sensor that could be activated. And sorry to hear you had to experience that -- disappointing that you had to deal with that.
