Does anyone know if the front bucket seats from a 3rd gen bolt right up to a 2nd gen? I have a lead on some 2014 seats and im thinking they will look pretty great in my 2013. They have less wear from getting in and out. Obviously the design is a little different, but the color is the same. So it will totally match and look great.

No idea about bolting up but I can say the covers look great on my 2010 seats. They are not perfect but are very good and as they came from a new 2018 that had leather put on before delivery they were new.

Had the same question before, anyone who knows hasn't shared it yet unfortunately.

This is a great question that I would like to know too. I was looking at some black buckets from a 3rd gen.

Comn, this should be answered already. Someone has to have a friend with a 3rd gen or vise versa. Test it out for us!

This doesn’t mean squat, but I can’t see Toyota changing the mounting points from 2013 to 2014. The cab is the exact same I bet.

I agree. I’ve been around Toyota’s all of my life and I can’t fathom they would change the mounting pattern for the front seats

The guy selling said he bought a second pair, and replaced the rear bench with them. I wasnt gonna do that, but kinda sounds awesome. then you could build a rear center console/sub enclosure.

Sub'd. Wonder if the heated seats are better. My 2017 taco heat was way better than my 2013 tundra seats...

I’d agree that the mounting points should be the same. The wiring harness though is something that might have changed which ties into the side airbag, seat heater etc...

Bumping this thread to the top - has anyone tried this yet or have any insight? I have a line on some low-mileage 2016 seats I'd like to put in my 2011. I have the obvious concerns:

    1. Will they bolt in?
    2. Are the electrical connections compatible?

I'd like to not make a 12-hour round trip and drop a few hundred bucks on these if they won't work out, in addition to not accidentally ejecting myself into space by setting off the air bag. :D

Hopefully someone is skulking around out there that has done this and can weigh on? I'm sure like the rest of you I've come up completely empty searching on several forums.

If not...if anyone wants to pitch in for science, I can set up a GoFundMe and you can help lessen the blow if I'm stuck with useless seats :p

What I've been able to find out after scouring the internet is, unfortunately, not too much. I *think* the seats should bolt in, as I've read in at least a couple places where the floor plan is the same (most of the red of the cab is, so why change that, right?). I think the issue could be the wiring for the airbags and any power setup.

If someone is able to take measurements and send a pic of the connectors for a 3rd gen seat and the airbag, that would help. The air bag part number is different for the 2007-13 than 2014+, so that makes me a little leery, and suggests you'd need to modify the wiring for the airbag.

The answer is yes they will fit. I just put a set of 2019 seats in my 2007 truck. Direct bolt in.

Unfortunately almost none of the wiring is the same however. The yellow side airbag wiring connectors are slightly different on both seats. (The wiring is the same, its just a different connector)

The passenger side seat has the occupant detection ECU underneath it. The wiring is not the exact same between the (07-13) and (14+)
I had to wire in the Passenger Occupant ECU and Seat belt switch for the pass side and then on the drivers side the seat belt switch and seat position wires.

If you can repin connectors, I would slide the (07-13) yellow Airbag connector off your old seat and put on the wiring/pins of the new seat.

Anyone ever see 3rd gen tundra bucket seats go into a 1st gen tundra? Specifically looking at some 2014-2021 SR5 buckets to replace my 2002 SR5 AC bench seats. Any idea how difficult it would be to swap them in? Has anyone ever done it? Any help is appreciated, much thanks.
