Thought this might be of help to others: Back to dealer in 4 days with truck screen going blank, speedometer goes to zero, when simple braking. First time they told me it was a rheostat that needed to be adjusted. Thought they quit using those in the 70s??? After rechecking today, told me first thing is battery is toast. Having to replace that, of course not covered under warranty. Tech belief is that when braking, alternator reduces output and battery failure did not allow all to be powered properly. Will post additional info if available as far as fix.

I had a similar issue with my Tacoma when the alternator wasn’t charging and the battery was losing voltage.
I remember watching my temp gauge slowly creep down and the lights go dim as I was doing 70 on the freeway. Thankfully the battery survived and worked fine after I replaced the alternator.

Mine died at 2 years. I only had 32K on the clock and the dealer covered it...is your truck out of warranty?

I would think it would be covered under warranty if the truck is a 2018?

Should be covered. My wife's Sequoia had a bad battery and was replaced.

Your battery should be covered under warranty.

That's what I was thinking too...they give you the same piece of crap battery but at least it's free.
