I think I want to put something like these on my 02:

    https://parts.salinastoyota.com/p/T...-Style-Alloy-Wheel/69529043/PTR1835090GR.html

I havent been about to find them used locally but $235 isn't horrible, and there is a 10% off code to wipe out the tax. But I think these wheels require special lugs, and I dont really likethe idea of having TRD branded wheels when I dont have any of the other TRD package components. I just like the rounded look of the holes in the wheels. Seems to fit the look of the first gen better than the harsh lines and angles of newer wheels.

    Ray10 is another option:

    https://www.stealthcustomseries.com/collections/toyota/products/ray10

Although in order to get Gunmetal, I'd need to go up to 17x9. I dont think that matters since I also need new tires. Also saw FN Overland Spec B which look like a bigger version of the TRD wheels, but it doesnt look like they sell them anymore.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fn-overlander-wheels-spec-a-and-b-show-em-if-you-got-em.459586/

But I dont know anything about wheels, no intentional off roading or anything, just something to update the look over stock. I've literally been doing google image searches for toyota wheels to see whats out there. lol So, does anyone know of a similar style wheel that isnt too much of a pain to get my hands on?

I really like the TRD ones in your 1st link. I almost put those on my 1st gen. I wouldn't worry about what others think about putting TRD on a non TRD truck, unless it bothers you personally. The TRD package basically a bedside sticker and some yellow shocks. Maybe throw a sticker on your bedside to match the wheels. I put a sticker on my non TRD 2003 because I liked the look.

You could always go with some Method Wheels.

Take a look at the others on the Method site too.

I have the Ray 10's in 17x8.5. They were not my first pick but I actually found a used set.

Not sure where you're located but there is a used set on Facebook in Alabama.

I'm in California, probably not shippable from a private seller. The ones you have are the exact color I was looking at.

Those are 285/70/17's. The front is lifted 2" with ICON 2.5's. The rear will be lifted next week with ICON add-a-leafs.

They will not work on your 2011, different bolt pattern. I actually de-activated my Facebook yesterday but if you search Stealth Custom Series they should pop up.

I like that chain link step you have there. Hangs low for easy stepping but won't hang up on obstacles, smart move!

OP the TRD ones are sweet. Figure out the offset on them, nobody would be bothered by TRD wheels on a non TRD truck, if anybody is that picky theyll also expect the Trail Series package from an FJ Cruiser. That is my favorite wheel from the Toyota line, I prefer the bronze version.

Theres nothing special about the lug nuts, those ones use acorns I believe.

Those look awesome! Did you powder coat the front bumper? I hate chrome with a passion so I am looking at removing all the chrome off this truck and yours looks just right.

No I actually used Plasti-Dip on the chrome bumper, mirrors too. It turned out pretty good. I've had mixed results with Plasti-Dip but it's a cheap solution to get rid of the chrome. I've since done the rear bumper since that picture was taken.

Lol thanks. That’s probably the most complemented part of the truck.

I may go the TRD route just to keep it simple. How important is the offset? I was planning on just putting on the tire size recommended for the rim (Michelin Defender LT265/70R16), nothing fancy. From what I can gather the offset on the stock rims is a little greater than the TRD rim, but not by much (~15 vs 10).

Check these sites out. You can enter any two wheel specs and compare them.

Very important. I think the TRD FJ beadlocks are in the neighborhood of 4.65 backspace, I recall them being an odd offset and skinny wheel. Should be fine with a 265 width tire.

Dustin may still sell the FN overland wheels. I'd give him a call to see if they are still available. I spoke with him today about some wheels he doesn't have listed on his site. I'll be meeting him Saturday to pick them up. Stand up dude. Highly recommended. Ive listed his info below.

So I waited a little too long while looking for lugs and lost my coupon! I'll just pull the trigger on something this week, I have the TRDs in one cart from one site, and Ray10s in another. I have one last question though, if I go with Ray10s, they are 17x8.5. I assume I can put 265/70R17 on them and call it a day? Not planning on a lift or anything, everything else will be stock besides the wheels. They also have them in 16x8, but I'm not sure why someone would choose one over the other. I've read people talking about the reason to go 17 is tire options, but is that in regards to off road tires? I'm just using the truck to move big stuff. I was just going to get some all weather tires like the Michelin Defenders.

Fuel has quite a few different simulated and real bead lock designs to pick from.
I have Fuel wheels on all my vehicles. I have the black trophy with the grey beadlock rings on my Land Cruiser, and the black Fuel Anza's on my Tundra.
They have a lot of choices with the bead lock look.
