EDIT UPDATE: The FRACv3 for 2020 Toyotas is available at www.FRACharness.com. Just select 2020 as your year model in the order form and you'll get the v3 harness.

    ====================================================

Toyota decided to change the Head Unit wiring for the 2020 Model Year. So I am designing a FRAC V3 Harness to be compatible. The design is complete and I am awaiting parts.

So here’s where I need some help. If anyone in the DFW area has a ‘20 or will have one in the near future, and you want a FRAC Harness, I need to verify the new harness works, so it would be very inexpensive for you to acquire a FRAC Harness... I’d just ask your assistance to install it in your vehicle.

Not sure of the time frame yet, but if someone is interested, PM me and let me know.

    Thanks!

    Lou

I have a 2020 and will want one as soon as you have them ready. I am in Los Angeles, though.

So this means, 2020 HU are not plug & play for the 2014-2019 models.

That is correct. Hopefully it won’t change again next year with the next Gen Tundras.

Quick question on the FRAC for a 2018 SR5. Just installed it today and it seems to work fine. On the three way switch, press forward and I get front camera. Press back and I get rear camera. Put in reverse and I get rear camera.

What is the two way switch for though? Doesn’t seem to do anything and everything works just fine wo it.

    Working on it :-)
It is for Navigation entry and other things you normally can't do when moving.

I get this question a lot. The 1/0 (on-off) switch is for the VIM function. It controls the Vehicle In Motion function which is separate from the camera function. See the text from the FRAC Installation manual below:

    VIM OPERATION NOTES

The FRAC VIM switch should be left in the “On” or “1” position for normal operation. The VIM Switch Enables all Head Unit Function at any time. It does not affect the Camera Operations. If your passenger wishes to enable Nav functions while in motion, turning the VIM switch off to the “0” position will do this. When the VIM switch is off, the vehicle icon on the GPS moving map display may stop moving or move erratically. This is normal if VIM is off while moving. Once the desired Nav entries are made and the VIM switch is returned to the ”on” position, the GPS should start updating the position icon within approximately 10 seconds.

Just so I'm understanding this one, this isn't the harness to plug a 2020 HU into my 2019 truck right? This is the 2020's frac that lets them use front and rear camera and the nav input.

    Thats is correct.

This is a FRAC harness for 2020 owners that would like to add front facing cameras on their Tundra.

Yes. @jaysbeaker, the V3 (2020) FRAC Harness is in production and is available at www.FRACharness.com. Just select 2020 as the year model in your order form and you'll get the V3.
