You might have said it somewhere else, but where did you get the flags under your 5.7 emblems?

What a difference, can't wait till it's dark out. The old bulbs were a bugger to get out cause you can't get you fingers or a tool around them to pull them out. I took a piece of fishing line and wrapped it around the base and pulled them right out.0913191625.jpg 0913191625_HDR.jpg

Nope, just pulled the old ones out and pushed the new ones in. Put them in with the door closed and after they've shut off and you don't need to disconnect the battery.

Hard to see via a pic but the second pic is after I paint matched to the trip. The units original color is slightly off and would have drove me nuts.

I had issues with popping fuses. I had to enlarge the holes in the metal shrouds with a file so there was no chance of contact with the new LED bulbs. I would at least turn the switches off, or pull the fuse, and disconnecting the battery is probably the safest bet. If I were doing my interior bulbs again, I would definitely disconnect the negative terminal. Cheap insurance

Got my TRD BBK installed today... These things are MASSIVE!!!
I have about 1/8" clearance between the caliper and the wheel. (20"wheels) And had to rebalance the tire because the previous balance weights hit the caliper! I wouldn't normally post a pic with the wheel so dirty. I'm sorry and embarrassed that my wheels are not very clean . No excuses, I'll be washing them up tomorrow.

Indeed they are huge! and they look awesome. I would suggest getting a bigger wheel to increase the clearance from the top of the caliper, it is too close. There is a lot of expansion going on when the brakes are engaged, even more so when they are hot. Speaking of temperature they also need to get air flow through them in order to keep them at normal operating temperatures. There is a certain clearance recommend by Stoptech (manufacturer of the TRD BBK) that the calipers and rotors should have from the wheels.

One last thing, make sure you follow the bed in procedure, this will guarantee the proper functionality of the brakes.

    Thanks.
I did the 10 cycle heat treatment break-in today and there was no issues. I was already thinking to throw on a 1" Bora spacer to give better clearance/circulation, or at least a 3mm slip-on. I appreciate the advice!

It’s some rough country product. I’m really not sure. It was on the truck when I got it. I don’t think it’s the 3.5 bolt on kit because it still has the factory shocks. I plan to upgrade suspension eventually

slapped on the bumper covers last night and tried to fix my pain in the ass fog light wobble/jiggle. bought the small blue clips and they didn't manage to help so i ended up zip tying the shit out of the passenger side! don't know if i'm missing any part of the bracket or not but it was extremely loose. bonus pic of my hired help, maybe that's why the fog light fix looks so shot!!:anonymous:

Gots me a big ole mess. Ordered black mirror caps to replace the chrome and it looks great on my 1794. Also replaced the chrome door handles with the black. On the driver's door it all went bad. For some reason after I put the latch back in it didn't catch the mechanism. I felt around in the opening and heard a metal tinkle. The mechanism fell apart and something dropped to the door bottom inside. In for a penny, I pulled the door panel off. I had no idea what I was looking at so I pulled the door shut as best I could and drove to the dealer. A mechanic was kind enough to see if he could figure it out and that's when we found a spring in the door bottom. Since it's Saturday afternoon, I'm screwed. They'll call me Monday. Can't even imagine how much this will cost.........me and my big ideas.

thats a bummer man. Dont be discouraged from doing mods yourself. Shit is gonna happen.

I had a long stretch where if at least one thing didn't go wrong when working on the cars/truck....i started getting nervous.

I changed my rear diff oil today. The parts store only had 4 quarts of M1 75w90 so I could only do the rear. Parts guy at my local Toyota dealer gave me the washers for nothing, I did buy an oil filter too, he has always been good to me. He said they use 75w90 even though Toyota calls for 75w85 in the diffs and 75w in the T case. I may order some 75w for the T case and use 75w90 up front.
I was hoping to do the front and transfer case too. Oh well, that's for another day once I get the oil purchased.
Truck is about to hit 40k miles and to my knowledge this was the first diff fluid change. It wasn't overly dirty or clean. Pretty much was as expected as far as the way it looked and smelled as bad as I remember diff oil smelling.
Oh yeah I also greased my zerks on my drive shaft, that's always a pain in the ass. While I was under there I sprayed down all my suspension bolts and nuts in preparation for a little suspension upgrade next week ;)
Here in CT I have to start spraying any bolt under the car about a week ahead of work because of the rust/salt issue. Everything gets seized up and stuck. Even though I fluid film, the suspension and exhaust bolts still are a bitch
