Question about sway bar

Would a sway bar make a stiffer ride, (not sure if I have a sway bar) is there different sizes available. Please help

All trucks have a front swaybar,some have a rear if it was ordered with it or added later.Normally rear has none,except on the the current sport model.As for the ride it will stiffen it up some yes.I have the TRD bars front and rear and love it.

 

It will help with body roll and should handle better cornering. On the flat or running straight it is in balance. It will add a little to stiffness but not a lot. It stiffens up and down motion from side to side.

 

This. Personally, while I did like the increased handling capabilities of adding the rear TRD bar I did not care for the increased ride stiffness, even if it was slight, so I removed the bar. My experience.

 

I didn’t feel that the rear end got any stiffer after my swaybar. Only in the corners do I notice how much more stable the truck feels. Plus polyurethane bushings in the leaf springs helped smooth everything out.

 

Another benefit to adding a rear sway bar, is my front tires wear so much more evenly. Before the sway bar the outer edges of the front tires were feathering pretty heavily, even with extra air pressure. The swaybar reduced that greatly.

 

I don't believe the rear bar stiffens the ride, but it does make it more responsive to driver input by making the rear end feel as though it is connected to the rest of the truck. Before I installed my rear bar, the rear end always felt like it was taking a different path to get where I was going.

 

TRD RSB will work with 3" lift, you may need to attach it behind instead of below the axle. Heck, trayday mounted it above on a 7" lift, and jberry318 has explained it doesn't matter the mount, it'll still work.

Whatever the case, I noticed no added stiffness, rather a really nicer ride not feeling my shoulders rock side to side as much on turns.

 

Optional, you have an existing FSB, whereas the TRD front one is heavier and thicker. Adding that too people have reported you really feel planted but there's a bit more stiffness and jarred bumps.

That said, those who offroad and want to flex often prefer no sway bars at all.

 

sway bar is a must...not stiffer, just less rolley polley in the turns....

 

This is the best response. It’s a must have mod. Ride stiffness is the same but the body roll on turns is no longer there.

 

Take it on the highway at 85 and do a quick lane change and then install it and do the same thing. You will feel the difference.

 

Please put sway bars on. It’s night and day with handling and body roll. I don’t off-road and my truck is on pavement 90% of the time.

 

As a previous Ram owner (don't hate, it was a cash purchase so I didn't have to have a payment) going to a Tundra I was surprised by the body roll and I am still baffled why Tundras don't come stock with a sway bar like most other trucks.

 

I suspect I know the answer already based on the last few comments but is this mod also recommended if you plan to do some towing? I assume it will make your truck more stable (and maybe even reduce sag if towing heavy?) but I figured I would double check with the experts.

 

You're overall driving experience while towing or not, will be greatly improved along with your confidence driving it all together...do it and smile more...

 

Sway bar has nothing to do with sagging under load. It reduces body roll.

I upgraded my front sway bar and added a TRD rear sway bar. I notice going over speed bumps that I feel it more. Primarily got it for towing.

Look under the rear and see if there is a sway bar. I'm no expert but wouldn't a 3" lift make the ride stiffer?

 

I towed the racecar 1 time before I added my HELLWIG rear swaybar. If you plan on towing the swaybar is a must add. A lot better towing experience after I added the swaybar. The ride difference between with and without is very minimal.
I've been considering adding rear air bags to level the truck out when towing. I think the AIRLIFT bags are less than $300.
