I've got a 19 TRD Pro Tundra and would like to change out the air conditioning/heater controls for the auto climate controls that come in a 1794 or Platinum Tundra. Is it possible ? Are the wiring harnesses different or are they the same between a TRD Pro and a Platinum ? I’m sure there is someone who has installed a Tesla radio and has it sitting on a shelf in their garage that might”let me try to see if will work.

Not sure about the 2019 pro's but I do know that a few people looked into this on previous year pro and sr5 models and there was A LOT more that goes into it and I don't think anyone attempts ever came to fruition

Wonder what more goes into changing it ? I’m still curious to know if anybody has tried this !

There is some kind of sensor(s) that are needed because the dual climate control also has the auto temp/fan speed function. Also the ECU is involved in some way, in addition to the wiring not being the same in all trucks. I would have thought it would be cheaper for Toyota to use the same wiring in all the trucks, leaving dead end plugs and extra harnesses here and there, but its been found that different trim levels are indeed wired differently. Some stuff can be found as far as things being pre wired, like fog lights, heated mirrors, dash speakers, or puddle light wires and so on. But it's not consistent across the board, for example some trucks have fog lights, some don't but the wires are there and some don't but the wires aren't there, its weird.

I always say where there's a will, there's a way. I'm sure someone has done it, I just haven't seen it done. Toyota kinda blew it with a $50k pricetag on a truck without dual auto climate control, vented seats, a simple leather steering wheel never mind a heated wheel, leg support on power seats, auto up and down windows, and so on. I hope you can figure this out, but if it makes you feel any better, I have a platinum with dual climate and its is set to sync 99% of the time

Pudge, Well … Thanks for the information but, Hopefully there’s someone who has tried or has been able to figure this out. I agree that the price tag on a 19 Tundra TRD Pro was quite high for what you got but for me and everyone that has a Voodoo Blue one it’s worth it !

I have to agree on the voodoo blue. I saw one online near me for 49,900 and it looks amazing. I haven't seen the voodoo in person yet but I hear its even more impressive than pictures

It would be interesting to hear how the Android head units do the air controls. Since they are digital, how does it know what trim package you had?

Not worth it. Would need to change everything behind the dash. The includes heater core, blend doors, electronics, harnesses, as well as a new ecu and programming being the actual functions are controlled via the ecu.

Trade it for a Canadian Pro. They are built on the limited trim instead of sr5 so they already come with dual climate, heated seats etc.

Went onto the Toyota.ca website. There is NO indication that the TRD Pro is on the Limited trim level. It even said SR5 with the TRD Pro package so I don’t know what you were looking at. Thanks.

Canadian Pros get parking sensors, heated seats... so weird.
    http://www.canadianautoreview.ca/reviews/2019-toyota-tundra-trd-pro.html

Someone on one of the forums looked into swapping the climate controls and I want to say the estimated cost was $2800 in parts... might be wrong on that figure but it was crazy expensive.
