Anybody have any experience in using Motul 8100 Eco-lite 0w20 in their 5.7’s? I’m thinking about making the switch.

I have a new 19 Pro that I will be switching to Motul once the Toyota Care is up. I have been running the 8100 5W-30 in my 05 Civic LX D-Series work car for 3 years (182k miles). I have had amazing results with that setup. Obviously that’s not a direct comparison to our 5.7’s but more of a testament to Motul in general. My Civic has longer intervals, 8.5k, with good results and does not burn or consume oil. The mileage and idle are efficient and smooth.

Yea my toyocare just ended so that’s why I’m doing my own oil changes now. I recently did the switch to Motul with the TRD filter. It was my first time doing an oil change myself. I don’t know if I’m just looking at the oil pressure gauge more or it it has to do with oil or filter, but I feel like the pressure gauge is reading higher than usual especially at 3k and above. Gets near 3/4 way up. Maybe I just never noticed it before. Normal driving, the pressure seems normal at just below 1/2 and occasionally barely past or at the 1/2 mark. I also did the metal filter housing at the same time. So not sure if the pressure is normal or something with all the changes. Otherwise it does run well with the Motul. Overall I’m happy with it.

Motul is a great oil but I think personally you would be wasting your money unless you were racing it. The recommended Mobil synthetic is just as good and at a better price typically. I run Wix filters because they are just a bit less expensive and every bit as good if not better than OEM.

Mobile One is good but I was reading some oil analysis that were done and the Motul really seemed to perform a lot better. And I usually only do 10k miles a year so I figured I could drop the extra dime on it since it’s only like once a year. I like to think my Tundra is a race truck at times though haha

No doubt Motul is better. I run Amsoil in my race bike but I ain't paying $14qt for oil in my truck

$40 for 5 liters on Amazon. And I’ve seen some shops that sell the 20 liters for $148. Less than $7.50 a liter
