King shocks or Fox shock or Toytec Alumas what would you choose?

Is there a ride differnce between 5100 and 6112s on road ?

 

I was in the same boat as you were, all went down to buy once, cry once. I choose the Kings, no RAGRETS here, lol.

 

I’m running the 6112 up front shock and spring, and the 5100 out back. Got the front set at top setting 2.5” with 1/2”spacers. Truck feels firmer and more controlled but also soaks up big bumps much better. Don’t have to slow down going over the tracks now lol.

 

Right now I've had 5100s all round and CB +2 for about 8 months only reason I want to upgrade is to be more comfortable at Sedona next year

 

Toytec customer service is awesome, David always answers my question when I need it.

 

Sounds like a good way to go then especially if you’re not looking to invest too much.

 

Go with what 6112s?

 

Yea, honestly I can’t compare since I’ve never run the 5100’s but I really like the way the 6112’s feel.

 

Get one of each and put them on all 4 corners, then you can tell us all which is best.

 

It's just very hard to make decision because I love the way kings look and I'm sure they will also ride much nicer but also gonna break the bank spending 2500.00 to 2700.00

 

If I could sale my whole set up I have now for about 400 bucks that would also help me only 8 months old and maybe 6k miles on them

 

I agree, I hear a lot of buy once cry once but I’m happy with the Bilsteins and spent less, works perfect

 

I didn’t see what I did so I figured to give my 10cents. I did a ton of research learned fox is a bit better on road which was a big one for me cause my wife also drives the tundra. I also I’m not bombing deserts at 100 so I could save and do the 2.0 res in the rear and save some cash and put it else where for now

 

What set up in front

 

I would rock the 5100’s and keep your eye open for some clean used coilovers.

It never hurts to have too much suspension, only the wallet hurts. But you wanna be sure. There is diminishing marginal benefits to bigger and more Feature heavy shocks

 

2.5 fox with res non clicker and t/c uppers

 

Don’t stress over it or look into it too much like which one rides better or is built better. If there’s anything I’ve learned from researching truck parts many people will love one product and many more will hate the same product, everybody has an opinion whether it’s true or not is the thing that’s hard to discern. My experience, I bought Kings front and rear no clickers for $2100. I went with Kings because they had less problems than other brands but they all do the same thing better than stock, based on your budget pick a color shock you like and be done with it. 40k plus miles on my set and no problems, I love them, rides plush on the street and comfortable off-road.

 

2100 is not to bad if I could find them at that price

 

Look at wheelers off road. Best price and tell them your on the forum they give u a little savings. I looked at sdhq but the shipping was crazy cheaper with wheelers. I think I was at 2600 with upper arms shipped to my door. But a lot of guys are right pick a color all great brands. Don’t go ruff country previous owner had it on mine. Junk shocks blown ride was super ruff made a ton of noise

 

Kings are unreal on and off road. Seem to be just a hair above fox in quality from reading. I still have oem uca and stock wheels/tires. Both on list to replace next. Good luck in your decision !

he is a vendor. He works with ADS to spec shocks for Tundras specifically. Many of us here bought from him. He will set you straight if you wanna go ADS.

I run King front and ADS bypasses rear btw.

But yes to what he said my needs are mostly 80% pavement pounder 20% dirt roads/pastures driving.

Then I got the full scoop on CO maintenance, I also kept going back to OME. With OME I can keep my stock UCAs, that will save me money I can put towards another mod. It came down to budget and how I use my truck.

OME also gives me about a 2.5 inch lift. Which is what I am after and I honestly don't need adjustable coil overs.
