How do you know if you have a flex fuel model

I'm new to the forum and Iv only had my 2015 Tundra SR5 for about 3 weeks. Love the truck. Had a SC 2008 Tacoma before the tundra. I want to SC the Tundra one of these days and need to make sure I'm not FFV. I don't have a yellow fuel cap and can't find anything saying FFV. Is there any other for sure way to find out. The salesman at the dealership didn't know either.

 

Usually it is printed on the fuel cap. Color doesn't matter. Mine is black and says E85/gasoline.
The fact your sales guy didn't know and more importantly didn't find out for you... time for a new guy next time around.

 

Agree with Utah, get a new sales guy! Sean is right though, just run the VIN #

 

Yeah the sales guy also didn't know what TSS on the back of the truck meant either. I really didn't care cuz I new I could figure this out later. The truck was low miles, 25k. Leather seats, nav, 20 inch wheels with 185/55-20 tires, Very clean. My fuel cap doesn't say FFV nor can I find it anywhere else. I'll run the vin

Yea, I have a 2019 5,7 flex fuel 4x4 and that same code is on my engine block.3UR-FBE. the only other way I could also tell is my black fuel cap is marked E-85 flex fuel also.but no badge

 

I can get regular with some ethanol, E85... and ethanol free gas in GA ... what's the best in the Tundra?

 

From what I've found out regular unleaded gets the best gas mileage but the e85 burns cleaner and is much cheaper. I just dont like being dependent on foreign oil all the time. And the e85 ethenol and all blends is made here in the us.i run e85 about half the time.

 

Btw, I grew up in newnan ga. And west side of the state mostly. Hope to be moving back soon.

 

Actually the gas sold here is good old USA dino. We export oil now. #1producer of oil. Not dependent on foreign any more for the time being anyway.

Yep... that's awesome. Wondering about all that corn we're adding. My mowers are were all clogged up so I'm running ethanol free stuff in them.

 

Corn is for food. For every gallon of ethanol produced there is a net loss of 54,000 BTU's. Not a very efficient process. That's why ethanol production is heavily subsidized with tax payer $$$

 

If the 5th digit of vin is W it is FFV

 

Government propping up the market for corn growers with subsidies when we should be growing food if were starting trade wars.
