This is for the Apple Gurus. Somehow my iPod 6 has become corrupted. None of my music plays through the speaker, bluetooth speaker or headphone port. The interweb said to try a couple of different things if that doesn't work I need to do a reset. I really dont want to do this because I have like 15 gigs of music.
My question is does anyone have any other ideas beside a reset?

Have you synced to iTunes on a laptop previously? If so, you should be able to reset the iPod to factory and then transfer your music from the laptop... Factory resets are not as scary as they sound - as long as you have your data backed up.

All I have is my company laptop and I dont have admin rights. I do have my music on iCloud. I was hoping that there may be a different way.
So resetting is my only option?

If the usual shut down/soft reset isn't bringing the device back to normal operation, I think a factory reset is your best option. Cloud restore will take a while with 15GB, but it will do it.

You should be able to restore your iPod from the cloud after a hard reset. You will see a list of restore options when you start it up after the reset. If this turns out to be a hardware issue...Well...

    From the web:
    Try

    - A reset. Nothing is lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore from backup

    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

Is you phone updated? My wife never updates and her phone gets pretty glitchy when she misses a few updates. Usually it will sort itself out after I get it all caught up.

Thanks y'all. Damnedest thing., I just connected to wifi and it is all happy again. No need to reset, no current updates. Weird!

No it's not. It's an Apple device. Weird was in Steve Job's DNA.

Sync a backup! If something ever happens to your iPod, you can basically clone that backup to a new iPod.

Saved many family iPhones over the years that way where one click brought it all back after a restore or new device, everything... contacts, photos, all settings, even the way the apps were arranged. Personalization that could easily take a few hours when you get a brand new device.
