The only thing I get anal about is separating my towels. I have containers for washing, drying, waxing, wheels, tires, windows and trim.

Needs some organizing. I'll do that when I move it from the basement to the garage this week. I have to move everything to the basement in the winter so liquids don't freeze.
I need to make some sides on my shelves so stuff doesnt fall off, will probably just screw some plywood to the metal frame. I need bags for clean and dirty towels. I have a half dozen bottles of various products coming in the mail soon.

Got a new shelf. It's not permanent but works for now. I've also been trying out multiple pumps. They all leak or bubble the liquid to much. Dont really like any of them. I'm trying to find a good spigot/tap to try out next. I've ordered a few from Ebay.

Well thanks to war machine and all his detailing posts, I ended up trying to teach myself how to detail. People charge insane prices to do paint corrections. I ended up buying a pair of Rupes DAs from Autogeek in kits. Got the Duetto and the mini with lots of pads, both microfiber and foam. The kits came with Keramik, the ultra diamond polish I believe and the rougher compound which I have not used. I decided to test my skills on my IS350 since I want to sell it and it came out like a mirror. Using jet seal after I’m complete with the last of my polishing and using pinnacle Souveran wax. This is how the car came out with just the Keramik. Working on the ultra fine polish next. Will post the complete end result. Now I’m not so sure about selling it. Oh ya. Bead maker after jetseal and wax. Bead maker is an awesome product. One helpful hint I found from the chemical guys videos was to mark up the back of the DAs backing plate in a cross pattern. Personally after trying both type of pads, I like the foam ones better. Easier to work with. so you can see if you are pressing to hard or if the machine is spinning at all. Didn’t even know they are smart and don’t operate on curves and when you press too hard. E3178B1F-1B60-4DDF-BB9A-4CACFE863497.jpg BA2CBAB5-7CF0-41CA-994E-CBBBA49CDFB3.jpg

Man that looks great! Rupes is supposed to be the best DA out there, so you should be able to do some really good work with them.
Detailing isn’t for everyone, and I still have a ton to learn, but I find it to be a very enjoyable and rewarding hobby. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Like most of us I have many products that I've acquired over the years. Especially after 10+ years of detailing.
These however are what I use the most.
Harbor freight buffer for light buffing and a dewalt for heavy scratches, wet sanding (1500-2000 grit) and headlight restoration.
Shine armor after every wash (if I'm using a wax/polish I'm very partial to autoglym products) leaves a nice shine, repels water and can be used on everything, paint, windows, plastics ect.
303 protector, mainly on the dash but also for interior trim.
Tonno tonic for tonneau cover. This only gets used a handful of times per year.

Thanks. Was my first time using a DA. The rupes are awesome machines. I’m buying the nano version for 2” pads for the hard to reach areas. I definitely have a new found respect for what actual detailers do for a living. It’s hard and tedious work and it’s definitely not for everyone. Requires patience and lots of time, but I agree it is really rewarding to see what you can actually do if you try. Having the right machines definitely helps for sure though. I want to learn to do ceramic coatings next. The car is relatively easy cause it’s in my garage and I can work on it when I choose. The truck on the other hand can’t make it into my garage as it sits too high and my garage is small. Not sure how to get all that work done in one day outside. It’s a lot of vehicle. Any tips on what people do to wash, claybar, polish, seal then wait 12 hours to wax when you can only do it outside?

Yes exactly it. The shelf is also husky and comes with a bracket that attaches to the peg board.

I have the same issue. My truck won’t fit in the garage, so I have to do it all outside. I haven’t done much polishing, but the rest can be done outside without much issue.
Main thing you have to worry about is keeping products from drying on the vehicle. I mostly try and get it done in the early morning or evening. The direct sunlight can make things go south pretty quickly.
I also on occasion take my supplies to a self wash bay so I can work in the shade.

I got this for Christmas. It’s expensive, but it really helps. My biggest problem was water spots from not being able to dry fast enough. With this, you don’t have to dry at all unless you’re adding wax or sealant.

    https://crspotless.com/product/dic-20-high-output-rolling-system/

My wife grabbed it when Autogeek was running a 25% off sale. The only time I dry my truck now is if I’m applying a sealant. Since I don’t have to hand dry it, there’s much less chance of introducing scratches. Now all I have to do is make sure the soap doesn’t dry on the paint before rinsing.

If you need to wait twelve hours to apply wax, get some Carpro Ech20 or Optimum No Rinse. You can wipe down the truck in about fifteen minutes to get anything that’s accumulated overnight. They also work great to clean it up quick between full washes. As long as there’s no mud or major dirt on the truck, it’s the way to go.

First set of tap/spigot are in! They are definitely tight fit for the Adam's and griots bottles. The 32oz 303 bottle needed a little inner trimming for it to fit. The taps seem to fit great in the gallon jugs. I had to work a little to get it to fit properly on the large 303 jug. Just had to make sure everything lined up correctly. It's kinda nice to shove the bottle on the tap and let them hang and fill themselves.

The new taps arrived yesterday. Much smaller and easier to use. The only thing with these is the jugs must be vented.

Same here. There’s probably less than ten items I use regularly out of the countless ones I have. I’ve been planning to cull my cabinet for a while now.
Once I get around to it I’ll have to put on “War Machine’s Overstocked Detail Supply Clearance Blowout”.

Yup. I went crazy this spring ordering stuff. Definitely an addiction. Wife thinks I'm crazy.

She will be happy tomorrow. I'm going to wash, decontaminate, clay bar, hydro2, and bead maker her Pilot tonight.
