Since the OP has let his thread temporarily side track to 2nd batteries, connectors, wiring, etc., for those of you that do IT, or know someone that does, UPS's (uninterrupted power supply, not the brown truck we all know and love) are a great source for the Anderson connectors.

We junk probably 20-30 UPS's a year and each one of them is good for a pair of Anderson connectors. I keep a stash of half a dozen or so in my desk, cuz, ya never know.

    ahhhh. head spinning.

if i use 8g wire, i need a 50a powerpole connector. if i cut off the cigarette lighter plug from the dometic cable, that wire is no where near 8g. so, how do i mate the two up? can i use the 50a connector with a smaller gauge?

never mind me. just found my answer. dometic power cord with a 50a connector. unfortunately, they are no longer available and it isn't any longer than the one that came with the fridge.

so, now i'll check with powerwerx and see if they'll make a cable with the 50a connector and 12g wire.

ok, powerwerx is awesome. will be using them again for sure. ordered a 10' 12g wire with a sb50 connector as well as a 40' 8g wire with a matching sb50 connector. over at wit's end, i found a flush mount bracket for a sb50 connector which i'll put into the panel i'm making.

That's a whole lot of 8g wire...... but you can keep the extra 20 - 25 feet. Good luck on the project!

yea, probably too much. but, knowing me, i'd order 20' and come up short by 1. so, i'd rather be safe than kicking myself.

after a few days of digging around, i finally found some aluminum (5052) sheets. metal supermarkets down the road is going to cut me two pieces (in case i screw one up) of the size that i need for the panel i mocked up with cardboard. all i will have to do is cut out the mounting holes and paint it.

i'll mount it with two bolts into the bed rail and a couple of angle brackets onto the decked drawers. should be pretty solid.

so, we’ll call this a partial check off...

    F8AC8E84-D4EC-4B21-96F5-20E90C1735DC.jpg

the cutout on the left matches the heat sink for the solar controller. just need to drill the holes for the mounting screws. the two holes at the top will bolt to the bed rail. we’ll see how stable that is. if it needs more, i’ll use an angle bracket or two into the top of the drawers.

How easy is it to use when the fridge is loaded down with cold ones and otter pops?

hmm. futzing around with dual battery install using the xfaktr tray.

    853B9A48-F823-495C-B308-36506779183B.jpg 02B5A27E-4F07-40B2-B88F-23099F7FA83C.jpg A3720F7B-7DEA-4951-8885-F446F6C8973D.jpg

fits two odyssey 34R PC1500 batteries. but, since they’re vertical, it makes connections interesting. factory cables no longer reach so they need modifying. has anyone else on here installed this setup? i’m going to see what i can figure out but i may bite the bullet and have someone else do this one. probably the off grid engineering guys.

if you have ideas, would love to hear them.

When i did my dual battery setup, it was easier to make my own cables, then you are dealing with less slack and will be easier to tuck in. Most difficult part was laying out different components of the Redarc system on the genesis offroad tray..... Goodluck man, fun times ahead!

Where did you order the xfactor products? I reached out to them about their compressor mount and I haven't heard anything from them.
