We already did that. All are torqued tight. So I'm not sure
Found all 6 lug nuts. I'm going to reuse them, that's how perfect they look. None are stripped..

Hmm never seen a wheel fall off with all the studs intact and lug nuts. Really odd

I'm not an expert but I really think those spacers caused that. That's wild. Glad no one was hurt. Is the wheel ruined?

Can someone take a picture of their fog light relay on an accesscab/reg cab. Need to check my mess of relays if I have one already

[IMG] It’s that time everyone. Also. Valve covers are going to be red now. Because why not, they’ll be off.

Going to go at it slow. Got a lot of
Other work to do this week and next. We’ll get to see how clean the internals are too

The damn cable didn't fit! :annoyed:
It wasn't the one I wanted really. This one plugs into the input for the ipod, which would be fine except it doesn't fit in the plug.

Theres a different one that goes in the terminal where a CD changer (remember them?) Or an EQ can plug in. I found and ordered that one now.

Not that I know of. The lugs are locking anyway and none of the splines look rounded out

Why? Studs are intact and the spacer is bitchin tight on the hub. Wheel is chewed up along the inside but not ruined. The wheel hung out a bit and rotated on that spacer and it still held on

Nice. I’ll like to see if your drivers side VC looks more cooked than the pass side.

Yeah. My thoughts led to sabotage last night. It may not even be an enemy. Some people are jealous of others possessions. She has a pretty sweet truck. Or, someone was trying to steal the wheels?

Now you say you found all the lugs nuts? Amazing. And it looks like your speed was at a high rate to grind that rotor down like that. What pattern on the road did you find all these lug nuts? You had locking nuts too?

Something is fishy here. Lug nuts don’t fall off all at the same time. I still think that spacer caused the rotor cracking (not picking just saying). I’d love to find out how all lug nuts (locking?) fell off simultaneously and their pattern they were found.

Theory: Someone tried to jack your wheel. Got all lugs loose and had to flee. You get in and drive. The corrosion and centric ring kept wheel in place until it didn’t. Wheel flys off. Spacer/rotor crack off on road impact or impact with something else (after wheel was already off).

I’ll look at mine again, but it seems if done properly one could cut some ribbing out of the main console (without structural compromise) under the cup holders insert and fit a small pistol in there.

Seems like a prime opportunity for some scientific research: since we don't know if boots are good (protect from debris) or bad (trap moisture) and since you're good with either setup, remove the damaged boot and leave the other one. Then in a few years report back on which shock is in better shape! :-D

Also on the tire falling off, my friend has a Lincoln locker in his 95 s10 with locking lug nuts, and his tire fell off from regular driving. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

Hmm. Apparently the older trucks have a smaller fuse box. Mine appears to take a small relay. I just don’t know which one

I'm at school today, so that makes it a research day!

Looking at new leaf spring setups for the rear to replace my 2" blocks and cracked spring.

    my current thoughts are:

Atlas custom 2" lift leaf packs: $680 + shipping see here or
Stock height springs with an AAL: $250 for springs, + AAL cost and shipping

I'm seeing wheelers progressive AALs for about $160 , Toytec linear for $100ish link, and el cheapo eBay ones for about $50 link.

AAL recommendations? do progressive AALs ride much better than linear ones? they seem to cost quite bit more.

I'd prefer both boots left on, even if I repair the torn one or just leave it. Call it OCD but it would drive me nuts knowing I'm missing 1 of 4 boots...

I've never ridden in a truck with single AAL but I hear the ride sucks. I've had the progressive AAL in all 3 of my yotas and love it. Well worth the money. I've also read stories of the single AALs snapping under flex. Also worth mentioning is that the wheelers progressive AAL is the best priced progressive AAL plus it comes with ubolts.

When you factor in shipping the Wheeler's is $5 more than the Icon AAL option which they offer free shipping on. I have no idea if one is better than the other in terms of quality. I'm doing the exact same research as @lsaami I still don't understand what "progressive" means. I do agree that adding a single leaf seems like a waste.

progressive is when the spring applies more resistance when more pressure is applied to it.

When I lifted my tacoma I used the long style toytec add a leaf and never had a problem. The ride is great, like stock. I wouldn’t even bother getting the cheap short style.

Tinkered around on the truck today. Started out thinking I was going to get the side doink repaired and painted, but read the spray can instructions and temp has to be over 70°. Changed gears to other items.

    1) High temp epoxied the two muffler joints where there is some corrosion. The muffler is in great shape as I wire wheeled some spots down to the shiney metal. Just some action around the joints.

    2) Greased up the d-clips on the 4wd shaft as they have some rust on them.

    3) Removed the rear wheels in hopes of finally properly adjusting the parking brake. FAIL! Ended up using 4 cans of brake cleaner to clean all the old diff oil and dust combo layer left behind by the shop that replaced my blown oil seals 2 years ago.

    4) Discovered the tire center that lost my spare key 5 years ago, ended up loosing my factory lug nut wrench in the fiasco last fall of them correcting their mistake. Went out and bought a Husky multi-use lug wrench for $17 at the big box. Pretty sweet tool and it breaks down nicely to fit in along with the bottle jack kit lift kit.
