I found it on top of the rear end wedged in between metal brake lines on the left side. I know it has something to do with the suspension. There is nothing on the right side. Guessing its along the road somewhere. I hauled alot of bulk decorative rock last fall...maybe that did it. 20190308_181835.jpg 20190308_181900.jpg

I had the frame replaced back in 2013 or 2014. Damn that rear end looks rusty compared to the surroundings.

That sounds right. Not sure how or where it was exactly. There is no mounting hardware. It must have been glued in place or wedged somehow. It could have been there since they replaced to frame.

    Thanks

Good old Toyota. Just noticed part number and looked it up thanks. Around 38 bucks for the replacement. Looks like it comes mounted to a plate. SmartSelect_20190308-192722_Samsung Internet.jpg

The u bolt goes around that lip and holds it in place.

Get some new U bolts for the install. Some reuse but the truck is older. Might as well do it right. Don’t forget to re-torque after a while.

Good call @15whtrd on replacing the u bolts. They can actually get stretched and should be replaced, especially if older.
