I have been curious on this as well. I typically by the Cheveron Techtron. If I am feeling cheap or see a good deal I buy the Gumout fuel system cleaner. Both seem to work well for what they are. I have used
11722 Max-Clean Fuel System Cleaner and Stabilizer. I did not find enough evidence from just driving around/idle it did anything......

ChrisFix on youtube does some great test/analysis videos of some of the well known fuel systems/injectors cleaners out there.

I usually fill up with quality gas like Chevron ,Shell and even the Costco brand one which is actually pretty good.
Once in a while I'll empty a bottle of Techron.

Personally, I use Marvel Mystery Oil additive at each fill up. It helps with the fact that most of us are limited to using a 10% ethanol fuel. Our Race Trac does have straight gasoline with no ethanol. Too expensive though.

I think any of the nice brand name additives will be just fine. Honestly, changing the oil regularly, cleaning the air filter and throttle body regularly and putting good fuel in is what keeps an engine running good;)
