I would just wire it to the dash speaker wire. Easier and will work fine

So do you put all the dash speakers on the 2 front amp outputs? I was looking at that same amp, you like it?

Hearing your system play for 4 seconds today and next thing you know I'm buying all new speakers, amp, and sub and read 18 pages of this post. :help: (Sorry bumpers and light bars. I really have no words to explain why you got bumped down the list so quickly)

Where's your guy at who did your install, and think he'd be up for another install when mine comes in?

James sent the Infinity 455A (something like that). It has the exact same specs as the JBL4505. I wired the speakers exactly per instruction on page 5 of the attached. So, the dash speakers and front tweeters are wired into the amp. Honestly, the only other car amp I have in my experience to compare it to is the pos that came with my truck. I would say it's about 1000 % better.

2 more doors to go for me. Both drivers side doors. Should be able to do tomorrow or Wednesday.
I had a buddy driving with me yesterday and I asked him how the speakers sounded faded right vs left and he said holy crap my side (passenger) sounds so much better. That's a good sign.
James trailed about 30 different combos of speakers to see which would fit best with the stock JBL system, amp, space, and all that and came up with this combo. I'm sure glad he did all that work. It's a huge improvement over stock even without a new headunit or amp

Good mornings y’all. I’m installing the rear tweeter right now and saw in the instructions to splice into the rear mid and bridge the 4 wire from existing tweeters. Is their a reason we can’t just tie the new tweeter into the red/beige and white/grey like in my pic? ATM it’s sounds good how I have it. Just trying get an understanding. 17 JBL premium

Just finished the install. Sounds great. even got rid of the annoying rattle in the doors without any sound deadoning material. Only noticeable issue is the small hiss out of the door tweeters. Now I have the sub, and all dash and door speakers replaced. Holding off on the amp install until I replace the head unit. Can’t see spending money on the dsr1 when I don’t intend to keep the stock HU.

    @james@tech12volts any recommended EQ setting?

Installed dash and door speakers yesterday. Non JBL double cab so I had to drill out the sail panels and rear door panels. It sounds great but I hear hissing sounds out of the tweeters on low volume when you’re next to the tweeters. When I turn the volume up to rock out with the new speakers you hear a buzzing sound. Not sure why. Have aftermarket Kenwood dnx695s w/mmr and stock non JBL amp. Waiting for new group buy AMP to arrive.

My local lowes didn't have the correct size so I got 1 1/4 and filed the rest to the correct size.

    Box says 34mm

Install complete!! Idk what everyone is talking about but the system has awoken and is much louder and clearer! Shit sounds awesome! I did however adjust the equalizer in Spotify for my likings.

You buy speakers AND amp while group buy is on..... Bilsteins will be same price in 6 months from now. These speakers and amp will not

Here's the thing. Thinking on terms of impact per $$ having heard this system in person (speakers, amp, sub) and having been in trucks with and now bought 6112/5160 I can tell you the audio will be enjoyed more per $$. You always have the radio on you don't always need upgraded suspension. Just my .02

I went with the total audio package first...I was in the same boat. I have a few months to save for the Bilsteins and CB shackles before I'll need them in the far north woods of Quebec. Like it's been said, the shocks will still be the same price for a while, the GB deal is now.

Besides, my Grandmother always told me, it's what's on the inside that counts most.

Good morning! I purchased a full audio set up from James at Tech 12 Volt. I was extremely impressed with everything that he included for the price that I paid. I have been wanting to upgrade since the day I bought the truck. I have a few questions after reading this forum this morning. I installed the door speakers yesterday. The front doors were easy with the addition of the tweeter sail panel. The rear doors I now have a question on since they already had a tweeter in the door. I removed the factory tweeter from the factory harness and did not splice into it (the factory harness) when I installed the new Hertz tweeter. Since the Hertz speakers come together as a component set, what would be the benefit/purpose of tapping back into the original factory tweeter harness? I just attached them to the new Hertz 6.5" like I did up front.
I also was wondering if you need to install the crossovers for the center channel (JL's) that GiantsFanDan put in? Haven't gotten that far yet.
My only other question that I can't seem to find anywhere is wiring the two front dash speakers. I understand that the harness has 4 wires on it. Do I tap into a +/- ? Do I cut the harness off and splice the 4 wires together somehow? Some guidance/pictures on the install of these speakers would be great. (maybe a wire diagram) Also these 2 front dash speakers are the infinity Kappas, do I install the capacitors that came with them? Just looking for a little clarification as I move on to the next step. Dash speakers, AMP and sub install.

Thanks to all of you who help the rest of us move forward.

For the record...James at Tech 12 Volt is awesome. Totally impressed with him and his company.
Cannot wait to finish the install.

Pull the harness off, and cut the wires right at the speaker. I ended up extending the wires cause they're too short with 18 Gauge Wire, and then use a female connector to connect to the speaker. This guy showed me how to do it, https://www.tundras.com/threads/blaine-18-platinum-build.39199/page-2#post-1033150

After a few days of having this installed I’ve came to a few conclusions. If all I listened to was rap / hip-hop / R&B , then I would look no further than the sub/dash/door upgrade. But I don’t, and that’s what’s gonna push me to buy the amp / DSR1.

Some rock songs play really well, ‘Numb’ By Linking Park plays amazing, while ‘Xerces’ ‘Knife Prty’ ‘Tempest’ By Deftones don’t play as loud as they should (though very clear) a lot of the low bass lines aren’t picked up (See comfortably numb by Pink Floyd) the intro bass line doesn’t even show up.

I listen to tons of Spanish music like Juan Gabriel, Caifanes, Bunbury, Vicente Fernandez and none of those sound that good cause it won’t pick up the bass lines. Obviously artists like Bad Bunny and Ozuna play AMAZING on this system.

In short , this was a great buy and a humongous upgrade over the existing, but that amp is really the next best thing for us. I’m buying.

I agree. My AMP should be here next week, but I hope I’m satisfied without a sub. With my double cab I have no room for one with my DuHa under seat storage and recovery gear.

I drove around for a week with all new speakers prior to installing the DSR1 and amp and kept thinking if my truck came this way off the lot I would have been more than satisfied and would have called it good. This past weekend I installed the amp and DSR1 and the sound went from relatively good to fantastic. The ability to adjust levels and outputs makes me like a kid in a candy store. I've been driving for 42 years and never new what a great system could do for my peace and serenity in Philly traffic. I have the Entune HU still in place. One weird thing is that now when I use the built in "equalizer" the sound doesn't quite match up with the control. For one, I was trying to push the sound more to the front and found that if I move the bass scroll to the right, the sound shifted more to the front. Weird but who knows what the hell the original idiots who designed the premium JBL wiring did in places I'll never see. Doesn't matter really with the DSR1 now. Once I replaced the subwoofer a couple months ago, I knew there was no turning back and I'll never regret it. The old system components are sitting in a trash can in front of my house right now. Today is trash day. That crap isn't worth the salvage effort.

To Dan in Livermore....I don't know what to tell you on the sub other than for me, in my truck, it is central to the total system. I don't know what the non JBL systems are like or what options for placement in the DC are. I think you would benefit with an upgrade if you can figure it out. YMMV and I just spent my last 2 cents.

Non JBL double cab trucks have no sub at all. One would go under the rear seat but that space is filled now with a storage box.

So many decisions to make. Add a sub and remove my storage box? My tracking for my amp order says it will be delivered next Monday. I’ll install it and decide

You can add a box behind the seats fairly easily.

I have an SR5 (non-JBL) and added this box behind the seats: https://www.amazon.com/Ported-Enclosure-2014-2016-Toyota-Tundra/dp/B01DFUERXM

If you get this box pay attention to the hole dimensions. I bought some cheapish pioneer shallow depth subs to go in it, and I had to modify the holes in the box to fit the speakers. You may or may not need to depending on the diameter of the subs you get.
